Database is messed up again. Getting an error when posting and posts are not incrementing in count.
Thread: Sloooooooooooowwwwwwww |
Down in NYC for a few hours, and I cannot update my avatar, not that it matters.

Database is messed up again. Getting an error when posting and posts are not incrementing in count.
When replying to a post I get "Database Error". When I click Reply again I get "You have already replied to this post".
Sometimes when I reply to a post I get "Database Error". When I click Reply again I get "You have already replies to this post". When I check the thread, my reply is there.
Also, sometimes I type a reply, click Post, and everything appears normal except my reply never shows up.
Ah, it's bad today. Didn't get on once.
Would love to know what's going on with the site.
The "new posts" list has not updated for around 12 hours now, & neither do new posts appear on the main boards list, but when l click on a thread, there are new posts there. Not getting email notifications again, either.

I notice that members can post new topics and can reply to posts. However, the stats are not updated (eg. latest posters do not show up on the main forum, number of replies and views are not current, etc.). Not sure about others but I am not receiving email notifications from the topics I am subscribed to.
Not down, but all the recent treads show "0" replies, which is not true. Functionality is gone...

5. Russian Tea Ritual by Masque (20 wears)
6. Fate Man by Amouage (19 wears)

Sit up but not functioning properly...

We're rolling now!
Site has been dragging in the last three hours Very slow.
Slow, slow, slooooowww ... well, what can you do. I'm glad that the site is working at all.
One trick is, when invited to leave the page, to leave the page. And then, without logging out, close altogether. ( Don't re-submit the post, like after 30 seconds or so, as this will result in double-posting ).
More often than not, the post was accepted and has landed, as I find out when I re-check back in. So, when it takes very long to get in via the front door, then chose a line from your computer memory, of previous history when you were connected, and go to your Profile, and from there back to the What's New category.
We have to be "smarter" than the computer, but it sure is patience taxing.

We're up and running again....for now.
Database has been lagging on and off in the last hour.

Extremely slow again at the moment and new posts / post counts don't seem to be updating either.
Post counts still not updating and individual forum posts haven't updated for about 7 hours.
Same here, for about 12 hours now, & no email notifications, either.

Back to normal... at least for now.
Saw a database error around 930a-945a EST today, and the site was inaccessible for a brief moment. Glad it's back now.
Ha ha hah - sloooooooow happens about once a week, at which time the Basenoters go over to Fragrantica and complain, and re-unite after the System is back.
This makes for a comparison of both sites, and frequenting both sides afterwards. IMO, Basenotes could be a bit more visual, and Fragrantica could have more of deep discussions. Just saying ...

Recently had frequent slowdowns here too.
Ce message provient du Québec!
Slowdowns??? I've had complete stoppages almost every day for at least a week - time outs, error messages, database failures. I'm guessing things haven't really been fixed.
Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan
Luckily for me, my experience was quite the opposite. BN has been running smoothly since the May 12 update, until this morning. If there was any hiccup in between, I couldn't remember it or it wasn't really a big deal to mention.
It's been happening every morning here, at about 8:20 or so, and I get the error message for about 30 minutes. I've worked it into my routine, but it's still pretty irritating.

Spotted few disruptions today and tonight (EU time zone).
A few sporadic glitches today - a few time outs and database errors. Nothing major thankfully.
