    Default I need a replacement ..... Please

Hello all. I need a replacement for my first true fragrance .

Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte . I started using it in 1984 as a 18 year old . I used it all through College. I remember I stopped using it because there is no longevity - I mean none !

So any suggestions as to a similar frag with good longevity !

    Thanks

It's the usual problem with citrus. Citrus smells good and fresh, but doesn't last long. It's a fact of life. For what I've smelled, any attempt to create a long lasting, pleasant and natural smelling citrus has been doomed (see Light blue for woman) - the results come off as sharp, chemical and unpleasant.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong, of course.

Hi johnjohn! If you really love that scent, you can try Concentre D'Orange Verte by Hermes. Stronger and longer lasting version of Eau d'Orange Verte.

    Other options:
    Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne
New York by Parfums de Nicolai (you actually might like it)

How about buying a small atomizer and just spraying every couple of hours?

Problem is I only get about 20 minutes - it would drive me crazy to spray so often. Thanks for the great suggestions volley2 !

Much as I love the fragrance, it doesn't last any longer on me than the base version.

    @JohnJohn,

I have a couple of suggestions if you want to stay in the citrus neck of the woods, and get longevity - consider:

Yves Saint Laurent pour homme (also available in a haute concentration)

Terre d'Hermes (also available as a parfum)

    Prada's Infusion de Vetiver is a citrus-vetiver

    John Varvatos Artisan

Tangerine Vert by Miller Harris is what you seek.

I have a bottle I bought from 2007 that I just recently resurrected from an old hidden box from a move. I 'd forgotten about it, but remembered why I put it away. Zero longevity too on me. At the time I bought it I remember being annoyed that I had looked at the "concentree" version at the same time, but somehow opted for the regular version as I liked the smell better of the concentrated version.

But anyways, just this past weekend I was at the Hermes boutique here in town and the sales guy showed me this interesting Eau d'Orange Verte 'creme" or soemthing like that. It was in a green squeeze bottle. There were two versions of them, and I remember both having a pretty good staying power on my skin (well, one was stronger than the other) and was considering getting that and using it along with my existing bottle to "use it up" as I still have 3/4 full bottle left. I really did like the smell of the creme much more so than the EdOV edt smell wise. Maybe using both will be an option. I love Eau Sauvage, and have used it since the late 80s, but I still find them both very different from each other.
