If you could only name one fragrance as the most beautiful fragrance in the world... what fragrance would that be? I know I have New Haarlem in my top 5, but those are the ones that I have in my wardrobe...but if you were to ask me what is the most beautiful fragrance that I have ever smell... i would say
Amouage Homage Attar.... I have not smell anything as beautiful...
What is the most beautiful fragrance that you have ever smell?

"A beautiful fragrance to the nose is like good jazz music to the ears, great food to the mouth, and Megan Fox and Jessica Alba to the eyes..."
Men's fragrance: Patou Pour Homme or Chanel Pour Monsieur
Any fragrance: Chanel Eau de Cologne (in terms of composition), and Mitsouko (preferably vintage)
SEEKING BOTTLES OF:
Aramis New West (preferably old bottle)
Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland
Gloria by Cacharel
PM me if you have bottles that you're willing to sell or trade!
L'Heure Bleue parfum.
I surprised myself there; not what I was expecting to say...and yet, somehow, it feels right.
change1, this thread might interest you:
A cookie/cake/cupcake bakery or Norman Love's Chocolate factory.
Versace Bright Crystal.
=> of course - not Mitsouko. Mitsouko was not that much before it was hyped by Turin. Aunty Mitsy is just an example of what Turin thinks of as a perfect modern perfume, abstraction, contrast, color blah blah ... .
So, what is the most beautiful painting You ever saw? Does that question make sense? If not, this thread is an other hype of perfume as a treasured good, isn't it?
Plenty of great suggestions here. I'd certainly agree with L'Heure Bleue.

I beg to differ, WildThingy. Actually the question does make sense as it simply asks about one's own 'encounter' with paintings. Similarly, this thread calls for BNers' personal experience with fragrances, no matter how limited it may be. It doesn't ask for the most beautiful fragrance in the world. Beauty is after all in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure Mitsouko has legions of fans who have never read Turin's book.
I have come across many beautiful fragrances, but I'm not inclined to judge which is the most beautiful. Among these beauties:
Enlevement au Serail
Bois des Iles
Le Temps d'un Fete
L'Ombre dans L'Eau

Yes Carnal Flower fits "beautiful" nicely.
I would have to agree with you on Homage Attar.
Since the question is SMELL... I think I have to say Chanel Cuir de Russie (new extrait), which is unfortunately so quiet (not even an hour) and also fleeting (2-3 hours) on me... now, that's for heartbreaking! I adore it, but hardly wear it myself. Next is Amouage Lyric Woman Extrait, which is what I call a sensual (pitch)dark floral that wears like a perfume oil. A good and well preserved vintage Arpege (1970-80s) extrait is truly special as well. I could go on and on...
I dont know if Ive smelt the one , so to speak . But for now Amouage Homage and Jubilation XXV and Carnal Flower and Portrait Of A Lady Frederic Malle editions come close
Carnal Flower... it almost brought a tear, almost.
name the 5 worst frags ever ... everybody names 5 (some 6 but - its meant to be 5)
help me with my next purchase 8 out of these 27 .. answers without question in dozens picking along each ones likeing
Mitsy is without any reasonable doubt an archetypical semi synthetic perfume of a rather old style. What about THE ONE most beautiful painting, sculpture, poem, song. Come on, does that make sense for a person of culture and distinction? For instance THE ONE most beatiful painting would be that single first sketch of a - wheel. First wheel in human history, what a beauty that would be. Any caveats here? Mike, ad hominem argumentation isn't Your style, is it?
<edit> Want to know about my preferences, then? Paco Rabanne METAL (just for today) on my GFs 21yo daughter. S-Perfume S-EX on me today. ELdO Encens Et Bubblegum on GF. Each of these is as least as beautiful as Mitsouko (1976 EdT formulation), go figure!

So far? Amouage Homage, but I'm still looking.
I hope I can never answer this one. I have celebrated highlights being Absolute Pour Les Soir - Carnal Flower - Eau Noire - Portrait of a Lady - Marquis de Sade and many more. I only hope I have many more new to come...
Must De Cartier Pour Homme
I don't have ONE... quite simply there are too many fragrances that portray beauty in different, but equally profound, ways.
The fragrances that I find truly "beautiful":
Guerlain Apres L'Ondee
Guerlain Attrape Couer
Caron Pois de Senteur de Chez Moi
Lapidus Pour Homme
Caron Pour Un Homme
Not a fragrance but Grand Bazar in Istanbul smells just beautyful. And an ancient Hammam has a very intense and special smell. Those two are very unique and i doubt they can be replicated.
But the best "scent" are those who remind me of my childhood. Whenever that happens i have to stand still and smell and fill my lungs and mind with memories.
