Default Help me find this Tom Ford...

So I went to Nordstroms today to get samples of some Tom Fords I haven't tried yet. Right before I was leaving, the guy said, "Hey, if you like citrus, you should try this..." So he sprayed some on a card and I was surprised, it was pretty good. Not outstanding, but I was surprised! The thing is, I forget what it is called . He said it was inspired by the Asian tradition of fruit giving or something. It has citrus, benzoin, tarragon, and some other stuff I don't remember.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Azure Lime or Neroli Portofino from the private line. Or maybe Grey Vetiver from the regular line.

I know it wasn't Portofino because I know what it smells like. No vetiver either. It also can't be Azure Lime because he said it had benzoin and tarragon.

Thats the one I was thinking. I really like this, but it hasn't been received well at all on Basenotes - probably because any new TF PB offering now has to be more challenging than the ones that have been retired or they are viewed as a failure. Personally, I really like this one.

I'm thinking Azure Lime or Rive d'Ambre.

    That's not the reason.
I think it's because Tom was pursuing a certain strategy, clientele & theme at the beginning. Then abruptly changed everything.
On the bright side, for Tom, new targeted clientele are apparently loving the changes.

Yes, this is the one that came to mind for me as well. I tried it on skin after visiting their boutique during my recent Las Vegas vacation and enjoyed the open, but like most of the TF offerings I have sampled, the dry down disappointed, as did its longevity. Too bad.

Positively Rive D'Ambre - the SA at my local mall also informed me about the inspiration of this scent being the oriental tradition of gifting of citrus fruits.

I like the opening and the dry-down - unfortunately this had no longevity on me... barely 2-3 hours.
