Default SotD Sunday, 15 May 2011

Good morning on this rainy and cool Sunday (hmpf!)
I could still smell the Tabac Blond faintly lingering on my wrists, so I reached for something that would not collide with it... so, I'm in Mitsouko EdP and still getting my leathery illusion for my crave. I also dabbed some Diaghilev - Roja Dove somewhere on my arm. I think the problem I have here is: Yes, it strongly resembles Mitsouko (new) to me, the extrait most, but I prefer it slightly more plush and would reach for the extrait with also a more interesting drydown with the peach interwined. The Mitsouko EdP on the other hand has more edges and a leathery vibe to add interest. So, I'd also prefer this over Diaghilev.

I seem to be drawn to TDC Osmanthus as I head for bed, so that will be my SotD when I get up. Take care, all.

Happy birthday to musse. I miss you very much, I know Ms.Q does too.

Slept with ELdO Fat Electrician, continuing the theme -- like Jon, in grandiose -- Guerlain Vetiver pour Elle.

LeGrand, I watched 4 of the Eurovision finalists and I would have voted for Sweden, honestly. Have not watched Ukraine yet, but judging from your post I am not missing much. Seems like some songs in general, not just the finalists, are targeted for a very narrow audience -- those jumping techno Jacks in matching red suits or Russian connotations from several countries -- where is the popular appeal of pop culture that makes millions of people throughout the whole continent a-humming? On the other hand, they played an old favorite here on the radio in the AM -- Billy Joel Moving Out (Anthony works in a grocery store/ Saving his money for some day) -- that's popular appeal, spunk and hum-a-day factor, I am teling you!

    Have a nice Sunday.

Since Eastern Europe entered the Eurovision, plastic pop and techno'ish
songs have been the norm. That kind of music is very popular over there,
and since they sit on a heavy load of votes, and usually only vote for other
Eastern countries, we have to oblidge, and make music for their taste, if we
want to have any chance of getting points from them. It's a shame, though.
The winner song from Azerbaijan is straight up boooring, I'm very surprised
that it won. Also, with all do respect, Azerbaijan isn't exactly known for its
huge national budget = the show is gonna be really toned down next year.
    Oh well ...

I know, I haven't seen anyone wear it either. It's really nice, I'd love a bottle, but it's a little expensive. Maybe someday.

When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan

"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." Happy birthday, Musse!

I'll agree Azerbaijan's song is boring, yet I found it the best of all boring songs in the contest yesterday!

I am wearing Amoureuse - DelRae and I really enjoy it!

Petit Guerlain EdT. Just as the Guerlains in general are not gender-specific, Petit Guerlain is really not categorical in terms of childishness either. If anything, it smells like innocence, a powder-free Après L'Ondée, or a sort of perfume version of The Little Prince.
