    Default Similar scents to Fahrenheit

I always liked this classic from years gone by but ceased use due to it's overpopularity. It was always appreciated by the ladies.

Are there any similar (perhaps less common) scents available that could be compared to Fahrenheit that might be worth sampling?

    Thanks

Have you tried Aqua Fahrenheit? Its a not bad variation on it, its a bit "lighter" and more suitable for the heat IMO.

Doesn't excist ... Fahrenheit is one of the few truely unique frags on the market.
And as such - unfortunately - extremely recognizable for those who know it.

Perhaps check out Paul Smith Men.
It's been compared to Fahrenheit probably because it has violet leaves.

I got nothing. I suppose something that might be somewhat in a similar realm would be Bond's Saks for him, but only in the green/incense nature. The dirtiness that makes Fahrenheit so great is not there.

There is a lot of complexity to Fahrenheit, so this thread could take you in many directions. The petrol note is present in Donna Karen's Fuel Men, which was the reintroduced Unleaded, I think. I suppose any flanker of Fahrenheit would be worth checking out. The only one I've tested so far is the one that smells like smoldering incense (Fahrenheit Absolute).

Grey Flannel is Fahrenheit's grandfather. You could also check LesNez The Unicorn Spell. Even If they surely share some similiarities they're still pretty different.

I've corrected you on this before. Fuel for Men is not the reintroduced Unleaded. It is the re-release of DK Men.

Lucky # 6's opening is almost identical to Fahrenheit's; bare in mind.. it lasts about 30 seconds to a minute. Other than that.. I have never found anything similar.

People say Usher VIP is very much like it, but I get no resemblance whatsoever.

I will await the day for a niche fragrance to complete Fahrenheit, that will be the day I will drop 200+ or whatever the price for it.

Honestly, nothing reminds me of Fahrenheit, not even Grey Flannel. It's one-of-a-kind, and blessedly so. Also, it's far less worn today than it was in the '80s and '90s, so perhaps you should give it a re-try.

There are many great designer frags from pre the mid 90's that can put niche frags to shame. What a pity mainstream design houses seem to have relinquished all creative desire.

To be honest I cant see any perfumer being able to better fahrenheit, save tiny imperceptible things. Its one of those moments of divine inspiration. Like the Mona Lisa, Beethovens 5th, Michael Jacksons Thriller Album. Doesnt happen very often.

Perhaps my nose is simply honing in on the violet?

I don't know about you guys, but Antonio Bandera's Diavolo smells very, very similar to Fahrenheit, except for the petroleum note. It's extremely similar in my opinion and can be had for like 20 bucks max. If you like Fahrenheit but you don't like the petroleum note, try it out. It may not last so long as F, and it may not be as qualitative as it, but it does smell a lot like F!

I do have to concour with someones mention of Lancome Hypnose Homme here, although it's slightly sweet and more of a spicy fougere. As for Fahrenheit itself, do try Fahrenheit Aqua as it is toned down Fahrenheit wich doesn't lack for longevity or projection, albeit the fact that Aqua flanker is not as much as heavy. One more thing, do not expect this to be an "ordinary aquatic". The only scent that, with Fahrenheit Aqua, is not an "ordinary" aquatic would be Boss Elements Aqua.

This is the closest you'll get. It's a knockoff made by Dorall (all they make are knockoffs).

    http://www.amazon.com/DORALL-COLLECT.../dp/B0014WONJM

You can get it for as little as $7 a bottle and it smells very close to fahrenheit. I think Dorall steals the formulas and makes the fragrance exactly the way the original manufacturer makes them.

Dorrall also makes a very good copy of 1 million, that they call 24 pure

Le labos Santal 33 has some resemblance as well. When I.first heard this comparison I thought it was crazy. Then I compared notes and did a side by side...its not that far off. Plus after owning it and wearing it for a while now, I have come to get an interesting car exhaust odor after the first 15 min of application.

Got a chance to try Missoni Olympios and can confirm it's very similar to Fahrenheit, though a little toned-down. Also, it has a funky sweaty note in the heart and much less petroleum. I just sold my bottle as that sweaty thing wasn't for me. Olympios smells a bit cheaper and less grassy than Fahrenheit.

I also got a great deal on a 50ml of Zents Ore EdT on eBay recently and can also confirm that it is quite close to Fahrenheit. However, I like it better. The violet leaf is turned up a bit to my nose, and the honeysuckle is replaced by a gorgeous jasmine sambac accord, which only makes it feel more natural but doesn't change the basic character. There is less petroleum (unfortunately) and the orris and sandalwood drydown is more refined and transparent though less ballsy. An excellent, classier, slightly more unisex alternative to Fahrenheit. (This is comparing with the new formulation, and not even side by side, by memory with a test strip.) I'd say it smells "better" (more natural, rounded, and elegant) but less manly.

Not the same petrol smell, but to my nose it's pretty close to Fahrenheit.

i think vintage jolie madame would make a nice alternative. it's actually even better than fahrenheit. it's by no means the same, but they do share a thing or two, and i think many people who like fahrenheit will like this as well. i've noticed in some vintages that the violet leaf is more prominent in relation to the violet flower (ionones) odor. in my experience this is especially occurring with the eau de toilette. personally, i much prefer the parfum edition, though.
