You can add True religion Drifter to that list.

I'm gonna disagree with Ed Hardy L&L. I'm not a fan of the fragrance or Ed Hardy anything but it's a hit with the teenage crowd.

I think Boss Orange is pretty bad.

Just because of the bottle. The juice is truly horrible and vanishes after 5 minutes. I threw that one in the garbage bin.

Hmm.. out of those, I have tried Bvlgari Man, Christian Audigier, Love & Luck, True Religion.

Love & Luck I used to own a .25 oz bottle. At first I thought it was crap, but after a while, I realized it had some charm. Although very basic, and uninspired.. while versatile as can be. Usually these types of fragrances do nothing for me and my collection. I might buy a bottle if the price was right, but for the most part, it's just a safe everyday scent for your average Joe. For the fragrance connoisseur, I can see this as being a waste.. however I still find it pleasant.

True Religion, I own a bottle of. I was considering swapping it for a while, due to its horrible projection and longevity. Kerosene told me to just spray it on my clothing, and it'll really bring out the best in this one, and it truly does. Now I can enjoy this scent more. I'm really not much of a clothing sprayer, but this one is fine. Smell alone, I think it's actually one of the better recent releases.. its got a nice combination of citrus, suede, and leather.. kept extremely modern. An intense version of this, or maybe an EDP would be great. This kind of reminds me of Tuscan Leather, without the raspberry - replace it with citrus. And, of course.. not nearly as high quality.

Bvlgari Man, I smelled on paper.. but I found it to be pleasing, I will have to come back to this one soon. Christian Audigier was just a fruity synthetic with some tobacco note, if I recall, another one that I just smelled on paper. One that I might come back to, but in no hurry.

It's difficult to decide... mediocrity abounds. Boss orange is one of the nullities I remember from the last few months.

You know, now that I think of it, I can't think of a designer/mass-market frag from last year or this year that is even in the slightest bit worth purchasing...

Pretty much. I ignored designer releases for a year, came back and realized I'd missed nothing. Not surprising as most releases (niche/designer/whatever) are superfluous but still disappointing.

I own them because of blind buys and got talked into buying some by a cute SA (yeah, I know) when I starting exploring fragrances. She recommended Luck and Love , Audigier and True religion.

I tried this one recently at a duty free store and was fairly impressed. After their last release Est. 1985 which tried to appeal to a more mature crowd but was a total mash of junk with too many notes and lasted about two hours, this one hit the mark much more. The blend of rose and patchouli is nice, and not overpowering, though it's a bit more sugary than I'd have liked. Though the name Loud is a bit of a misnomer since this one isn't very loud, but the longevity on me was good, about 6-8 hours, and projection was decent. Certainly nothing groundbreaking, but also not worthy of a worst releases list.

I can only think of one.....CK One Summer 2010......not bad until this grilled hamburger note creeps in out of nowhere. No idea what is causing it, but I kept thinking I had something smelly in my car. Just this odd stray note in the composition that smells like fast food hamburgers and totally ruins the fragrance.

The bad designer frags I end up with samples of are never really that bad, and the ones I sniff at the department store counter are not worth remembering in any event.

Well you learned the hard way to ignore SAs by default. And also to never blind buy... especially stuff that you can try in just about low-end department store in the world! (If you're gonna blind buy, at least do it for something a little bit rare!)

But your list of worst releases looks pretty solid to me. I hope you buy better stuff next year

Blind buying is a lot of fun. Ed Hardy, True religion and Audigier are quite uncommon in Germany.

Haha....! To me it's unmistakable but it could just be a weird perception in my mind.

It makes me kind of happy that there haven't been many winners in the last year or two. It means I can catch up on more of the (many) classics that I need to try, without worrying about missing out on something current. Although it does get kind of annoying to read over and over, "This is okay but the older formulation is the best"!
