Most of the time I am very proud of the Basenotes community. Time after time I have witnessed the thoughtfulness, empathy & genuine friendship that members of this community extend to others - oldtimers & newcomers alike. There are other times, however, when egos get the upper hand and civility goes out the window. My philosophy is that I won't say anything here that I would not say if you were standing in front of me. Welcome to Basenotes, each and every one of us. ~ TwoRoads

^ Like any group, we have our own specialized vocabulary. New members (and old alike) may not be familiar with some of the abbreviations that get commonly used, which could make them feel confused or out of touch with the community... This project is an effort to help everyone feel more comfortable and welcome.

I just saw this thread - good job Master-Classter.

I just realized that the acronym for Black Orchid is the same as body odor. (giggle)

Sparky just caled Sycomore 'brown'. What does it mean?

Some months later: Oh, I get it now? It's from the colour wheel. Dah! So that would be dry woods then?

This is an invaluable resource. The general forum abbreviations have especially been helpful to me.
