Friday's almost over here in Oz. It's 5:30pm, so to those of you almost in Yesterday, have a good day.

I'm trialling Guerlain Terracotta Voile. Mixed feelings. Rather an odd beginning. Actually rather odd, full stop. Not sure it was worthy of buying a little bottle of.

Notes are: Bergamot, Mint Jasmine, White Lily,Rose, Ylang ylang Carnation, Iris, heliotrope, vanilla, pear

This one's going to take some time to 'get'.

Alright, Twolf, it goes like this...
Monsieur gets up, refreshes himself in the bathroom, sprays liberally like 15 times his upper body with Mouchoir de Monsieur, while staff has prepared breakfast outside in the patio. Monsieur in a cloud of fragrant sophistication finally arrives to be handfed with fresh fruit of all kinds, while Monsieur is typing this.

This is a true classic and still one of my best-loved scents.

Now that I have checked on the Synch Friday, I will be wearing Cristalle.

I have been testing Pour Monsieur Concentree, which I believe is by J. Polge, and it is terrific. Gandhajala, are you wearing the newer stuff or the original Pour Monsieur? Can you compare? I have not yet found any of the non-concentree to try.

    Good morning!

Well it's the start of the Memorial Day weekend and our forecast isn't cooporating at all. There is rain predicted all 4 days. (Sorry Jon )

It's Jacques and Olivier Polge sync day, there's so many wonderful scents to pick from. It took me half an hour to figure out which one to wear or if I should go with some Profumi del Forti samples that are calling my name. Finally settled on a classic I haven't worn for awhile, so today I'm scent twins with Kewart in the beautiful Rive Gauche.

Top note: Aldehydes, Bergamot, Lemon, Leafy Green
Middle note: Rose, Jasmine, Gardenia, Honeysuckle
Base note: Vetiver, Tonka, Sandal, Oakmoss (according to Osmoz)

    Have a great holiday weekend!

    Good morning all.

30 Roses, that sounds particularly nice given the vindication.

In sync today with Bel Respiro (Jacques Polge). I applied generously but I hope not too much so - somehow, even fresh, I can barely smell it. I have some more Exclusifs on the way, but so far I find all of them fairly light.

I don't think I could play the fragrance - prescribing game. For one thing all my samples are in the wardrobe and I don't know where most of them are. But for another the mood has to strike me to wear something. I don't even participate in as many synchronized Fridays as I could, although I like the idea.

Perhaps if I ever edit my collection down to scents that I love... but then my tastes are fickle. I almost disposed of my decant of Chamade the first time I tried it. But I decided it deserved another try, and last time I lifted the lid to sniff it appealed. Oh well. Since I have so much choice, choose I will.

I can see, that I haven't been wearing this since June 17th of last year.
And since it's a Jacques Polge creation, I thought today should be the
day, where I gave it another chance. It's deff not a fave of mine.

I love this fragrance, especially in the very warm weather we’ve had this week. It’s light and refreshing, yet complex, refined and sophisticated.

After a bout of garden work frenzy... I mean these branches of the big tree in front of the house, which had been there for years, had to go TODAY, you understand? It turned out to be a major job, so after a shower (the Mouchoir had long gone anyway) I changed to Shalimar vintage extrait. This really is unbelievably good AND haunting!

It seems to be one of those fragrances that becomes radiant with time on skin (like Terre d'Hermes). It reminds me of my Aqua Allegoria Figue-Iris. This is nicer. I found two different decants of Thé Rouge sent by Basenoters. I'll gladly send you one so you can try it. PM me your address. I used to see it in Marshall's all the time but never had much interest. Now that I'm wearing it on a warm day, I've changed my mind. Of course, you know if I go looking for it in Marshall's there won't be any.

This will be my Polge choice later today. I got a 20ml bottle FREE with the purchase of S-ex.

I woke up craving Xerjoff XXY, and that's what I'm wearing now.

Don't you love it when they call you from work and say they have been missing you and why doncha bring your a.. there in about 15 minutes? Yep, that's how my day went yesterday. Could not sleep well most of the night -- excitements of various character, you know.... Oh well....

Larimar, living it up? And again, somehow I believed that a few fragrances were created to be sprayed on handkerchiefs. Ahhh, old-fashioned grumpy me.

Actually, seems like I am an accidental twin with Giuseppe today in a sensual beauty of rose, myrrh and cedarwood by Bertrand Duchaufour Paestum Rose.

Switched to Polge Snr for the evening - 31 Rue Cambon, along with RHM, cello and iechris. Also tempted by Diva, but will keep that one in reserve for next week's synch (an 80s frag) or even the week after (mother's signature frag).

CPB - hope you had a great holiday.
    Enjoy the weekend all.

I'm perpetually out of synch, but I'm not going to fret about it.

Today I'm sampling La Maison de la Vanille's Absolu de Vanille. It's not bad -- it seems to be a dry and dark-ish vanilla/patchouli blend. The patchouli has a camphorous opening that is similar to Borneo 1834 -- but the entire thing vanishes about 10 minutes after application, only to reappear about 2 hours later as a warm but still not-very-sweet vanilla/patchouli blend that wears quite close to the skin. I actually get more tonka than vanilla with this fragrance.

I'm honestly not sure *what* I think about it. Maybe it would wear differently when sprayed (mine is dabbed)...

Out of synch, but very happy in Chanel Cristalle eau de toilette. Maybe I'll switch to 31 Rue Cambon later... or Cristalle Eau Verte... or No. 5 Eau Premiere... or Dior Homme... Sigh! So many goodies from those Polge men...

    Exactement!

I really wanted to wear a particular sample that Matildaben had so kindly sent, but recognizing it was Polge day, I figured I'd postpone my desire and look at what I might choose to fulfill synch-day guidelines. But wait! The desire and assignment turn out to be one in the same: Sycomore! I would categorize this as an easy-to-wear, 2010s, quality laboratory scent. That's how I think of Guerlain's Cologne du Parfumeur, too. Successful synthetics both. However, I don't imagine either being terribly popular ten years from now, when No. 5 and Mitsouko will still be in demand. My fave Polge remains Bel Respiro. (Hope your doctor visit is routine and easy, Matilda.)

30 Roses, I can just imagine how your heart swelled during that awards presentation. I've been in that situation, and it's a very BIG high that a parent gets. I'm so glad you have had this happy experience. You and your family earned it.

True thanks for your kinds wishes yesterday, one and all. Of course, Evangeline and Twolf were quick to I.D. the found heart-shaped bottle. I'm sure I know the precise Woolworth's where it was purchased 50 years ago.

We're doing extra happy dances here today because the mail just brought an announcement from the Veterans Administration that DH will be getting monthly compensation for having just now qualified for disability from his Vietnam experience. Awful as it was that he suffered emotional trauma, as of today a sense of worth and vindication have been made manifest in the form of written recognition and a guarantee of unexpected income.

    Hi Carolina girl,
I was wearing the 'regular' Pour Monsieur today. I'm in the opposite boat to you in that I haven't smelled the Concentrée. So, I'm sorry, but I can't offer any thoughts on how the two compare. Maybe somebody else can chime in (?).

SotE will be no. 5 parfum.

Back from the Dr. (uneventful) and in sync with Bel Respiro (which I applied before I saw Quarry's post above). It's the end of my sample and I must get a new decant!
