Bulgari Black.
Thread: Caramel, vanilla and Petroleum |
Bought a car wax yesterday and it smells absolutely heavenly. Caramel and vanilla made a bit more edgy with the petroleum distillates. Could sniff it all day.
Anyone know of any fragrances that may mimic this?
Seconding Bulgari Black; it's the closet you'll get to that mix, in my opinion.
Oh! Seems you've found it. Perhaps Japon Noir? It had an oddly petrochemical top note, if memory serves me.

SMN Nostalgia (rubber, bergamot leather and patchouli)
Nostalgia might resemble, as others have said. But the top is stronger and more petroleum, and the drydown smoother and sweeter than Black. Black remains rubbery into the drydown.

Maybe A Men? Not petroleum, but it has a prominent tar note, along with patchouli that dries down into a caramel/chocolate base.
Santal Blanc, Serge Lutens, was like this for me.

Now that you mention it, I'm wondering if I can find something wearable that smells like Marvel Mystery Oil.
Well, no caramel, but vanilla + petroleum = vintage Shalimar extrait by Guerlain.
