Default Discontinued Classics- I have two and one might surprise you.

I was giving some thought to what discontinued fragrances I managed to end up with after all these years of fragrance buying. I knew of one that would get some love but what about the other? My Holy Grail scent from many years ago now is Patou PH.I managed to acquire it from a local seller when they had a small supply, but I knew nothing about it except I loved it then and still do now......of course I came to realise what I was lucky enough to have bought some time later. The other one though is Amouage Gentleman's Cologne which was only around a short time and in my opinion is simply a classic in the Amouage line up, yet perhaps was not seen that way at the time. It is still powdery in the fashion of Gold, but is much more wearable and in some ways I would liken to a fragrance that sits somewhere between Gold and Dia and the classic bottle itself is a gem in my collection. Any thoughts and what are your classics?

I am also glad to have Patou Pour Homme (90ml) in my collection.

Gentleman's cologne is Gold. Unless you are comparing it to current Gold, which seems to be different than what it used to be?

A local supplier, you say? Well heck, I wish you'd share your sources! I've scoured the city and surrounds 10 times over for such things. Were you referring perhaps to the store that was once in South Perth?

The supplier while being a number of years ago was Heavenly Perfumes in Ellenbrook and can be found online [for delivery in Australia] and while I doubt current availability of Patou PH I wish you well in your hunt. Mmmm the Amouage Cologne is a forerunner to Gold I think, but I do consider the current formulation of Gold definitely inferior....in my opinion only of course.

Yes, Gentleman's Cologne is a forerunner to Gold, but the scent in the crystal glass with gold dagger bottle of Gold is identical to Gentleman's Cologne IMO.

Thanks Mudassir yes I know the bottle you mean for Gold and to me the formulations from then to what is sold today are different, hence my greater appreciation for the Gentleman Cologne.
