Default Mechant Loup and Varvatos similar?

I'm trying to figure out if I am close here or if the scents are quite different.

I seem to smell a striking similarity between L'Artisan Mechant Loup and John Varvatos by John Varvatos. Does anyone else get the same or is it just me?

    Not to me.

Not at all. I think I know what you're picking up on though-- sometimes I get a "stale" kind of note in both scents. It's weird, because I don't know exactly what it is-- sometimes, certain sandalwood accords have this quality and I think that's what you're perceiving. I love both scents though.

I don't see a similarity. For me, Mechant Loup has a very warm, slightly sweet cedar note. Any of the Vartarvos cluster have much more prominent citrus notes.
