No activity yet, everybody fast asleep?
    Good morning!
It's Serge Lutens' masterpiece La Myrrhe for me.
I am going through my Lutens bell jars with the dabbing vs. spraying awareness...
I have the atomizers removed for the following: Rose de Nuit (this should cerainly be dabbed to my perception), Chergui (the mood from the bell jar version is simply darker and more tobacco-y), Cuir Mauresque (although it is very quiet then, but I really get the idea or theme now). Fourreau Noir and La Myrrhe I think it does not really matter. Sarrasins may depend what you want to get from it. I spray lavishly to get that sexy leathery undertone as well. Boxeuses should be dabbed too (for the leather) although too redux and watered down with not impressive longevity.

Guerlain's Bois d'Arménie. It has that haunting, nostalgic incense scent of the Orient that makes Guerlain loyalists associate it with pre-war classics. Except that it doesn't exercise the classic Guerlain drydown transformation (which is true for all the L'Art et la Matière fragrances), consisting almost solely of balsamic base notes: olibanum, orris, smoky guaiac wood, benzoin, balsam, patchouli — the only notes that give lift are pink pepper and coriander. Instead, it is a panoramic take on the incense theme, gracefully crafted with exceptional softness and transparency. Its patchouli and orris are high-grade, adding the particular earthy-sweet background effect that whispers "Guerlain..."

SOTD is Chanel No 5. I have had an on-again (edc from the late 70s-early 80s) off-again (edt from the 90s-2000s) relationship with this one, and I am pleased to say that thanks to the most recent edt we're on an upswing. It just feels perfect today.

    Have a lovely day, all!

Wearing Méchant Loup ("bad wolf") from L'Artisan.

    Hello all,
I worked all day yesterday not lifting my head up -- until my husband started quietly making a dish for a potluck we were invited to. In a work frenzy I completely forgot. I jumped up and started to help. Put on Jo Malone Sweet Milk to please and comfort myself and my friend who was hosting the potluck -- he loves the smell so much, he always seem to look forward to smelling it on me. So it was a lovely night of playing dominos with friends and smelling quite sweet.

So now I am still finishing my work, on one wrist some more of Eau d'Iparie, on another some Panache. It does not wow me on my skin as much as it did on paper, but I will do a full test later today when I finish my work. I just can't wait.

It was an amazing read! Thanks for sharing!

Larimar, I will join my voice to TWolf's. I also think that fragrances are very different depending on whether they are sprayed or dabbed, so I can only call for more posts like yours. And, if you don't mind me saying so, what a fine collection of SL you have!

Today I (and the 4 year old) are in Keiko M Datura Blanche. I think I like this better dabbed- heavy in a smaller area, not sprayed out over a larger space - so may decant, the bottle is lovely though.

Wearing Tea Rose by the Perfumer's Workshop. The forcast for today was rain, but it hasn't yet appeared. I bought myself a new baby Japanese Maple today and am off to work in the yard. Rain should now start in approximately 10 minutes! Okay, it was closer to 20 mintues and I got three of the four repotting tasks accomplished.

Thank you for all your kind words yesterday. I'm still upset today but on the mend. I won't totally tell him off as he loves doing home repairs and building things and heck, I'd love some cedar boxes for my Japanese Maple collection. What are friends for, right?
