Question The first spritzes of an old bottle = degraded?

I just posted (http://www.basenotes.net/threads/279...d-150ml-tester) about a bottle of Esencia Loewe that smelled awful in its first spritz, but after clearing the atomizer, it smells much better. Has this happened to you?

    Me neither.

I'm always watching for this, because if you have a perfume that can go bad due to oxidation, this would be a sure sign. But I've never experienced it (noticeably) with any frag. Perhaps the particular frag (Esencia Loewe) is susceptible to going skanky from oxygen.

Yes, happened to me. Bought a fragrance from the 90s which was a bit "off" in the first 6 sprays but then was okay.

I can't say it's happened to me but it makes sense that it would. Juice in the plastic tubing could get impacted differently than what's still in glass.

Yes it was about 6 sprays for me too! What really confused me is that it's a different formulation as well :/
