    Default Is lip primer necessary?

    Hello all,

I want to get some advice about lip primers.

I love lipstick and I love to emphasize my lips with dark colors. However I just bought a Benefit lipstick in a gorgeous color but the formula can be a little slippery and Im afraid of that horrid smeared lipstick look.

Do you think a primer would help? Or do you think a lipliner is enough?

BTW do lipliners have to match your lipcolor or can you just wear a natural shade that would go with all lipsticks?

    Thanks in advance.

Lipliners should match your lip colour, the companies want to sell you one to match every lipstick colour you own.
Yes lip primer is a must holds the lipstick longer gives it a base to adhere to. I use MAC Prep & Prime one, its a clear wax and a few seconds goes tacky that is when I apply the lipstick.

    Thanks Donna,

I was dreading the idea of trying to find a lipliner for this lipstick, this stuff gets expensive.

Im gona check out that Mac primer you suggested. thanks again.

Second Donna! I use the same lipliner with all my lipsticks - from the darkest aubergine to the palest beige - and it works well

    Excellent advice!
More Try Chantecaille contour fill lip.
I've been using for contouring and the entire surface of the lips. Lipstick does not spread lies and perfect.
