Default GAME TIME ! Let's Have some fun with fragrance !

    ok...Here are the rules...

Look at the person's wardrobe that has posted above you...Peruse through his list and only pick ONE fragrance OR house that he is missing based on your personal recommendations...

ONLY ONE FRAGRANCE OR HOUSE YOU FEEL HE IS MISSING TO COMPLETE HIS WARDROBE....

It's going to be harder for people who have 100's of bottles like hednic to do this but let's try to keep it fun....

Obviously to play, you have to have a wardrobe list here on BN so the person beneath you can post what he thinks...

    Good luck !

This could be fun and entertaining or turn ugly pretty quickly...lol

I'll narrow your search by suggesting you get either Chergui or De Profundis.

My humble suggestions would be: perhaps Chopard Noble Vetiver and/or TF Grey Vetiver and/Pure Havane to this already impressive and diverse fragrance collection in the post above.

FSU92grad, you have Dior Homme and MIP, how about adding Dior Homme Intense. It would match the quality of your collection.

    Next....not bad...

I would recommend Royal Oud since you seem to like Creed and you don't have really any oud-type fragrances....It would be excellent to add to your collection, IMO...

FSU92Grad, I think you need some Comme des Garcons. I think you need some more scents with an abstract or even industrial/synthetic edge.

Going into spring I think you might enjoy Sugi. Or my perennial favourite, 2Man.

Playing this game I start to get nagging thoughts like "The reason he has no CdG is that he has tried them already and hates them"

Darjeeling - I've got lots of recommendations for you, because I think I understand your taste, which I share in many aspects. You need to try Chanel Bois des Iles, to see just how woody that one really is. It could be a breakthrough to some quality feminines for you. You may not want to own it, but I think you'll appreciate it.

RP, I'd say Tobacco Vanille, Guerlain Spiriteous Double Vanille, or even Pure Havane. Something in that vanilla/ tobacco genre.

Cool - that is something I need to look at. Love them both (tobacco and vanilla), and I would like to find a combination that hit me right. I suspect that TV might be it. I've only sniffed it in the store - never actually worn it. Maybe I sold it short by not actually sampling.

I'm definitely light on it - I'm finicky. Have not smelled the new CDG Black - and damn if I didn't pass up getting a sample when I could have. Next time, I will give it a real try.

These games are just fraught with timing errors. I've just learned to accept that they happen. The nice thing about this game is that if somebody doubles, it just opens up two answer slots. It takes about 5 minutes to check somebody's wardrobe - we might as well not waste that effort when somebody gets beat to the punch, IMO. Two recs are better than one!

Next - I'm going to recommend trying Jour d'Hermès. I don't think you'll want to buy a bottle, but I note that you're a fan of MI and SMW. To me, that means that you probably enjoy the strong, pure, "high-pitched", tonal nature of those fragrances. Well - most people think Jour is a bit of a WTF, but if you spend time with it on your skin, you will see that Ellena did something *remarkably* similar to those two Creeds, and very, very well. It's a bit too feminine for me, but I really enjoyed seeing the similarity to MI and SWM, and I'm sure you will, too.

PS - Tony - you need more Hermessence! So I'm including two more samples along with the one I was already going to send!

I had a quick sniff on a card, but as it was at the end of a long session, I wrote it off as being too classically floral and feminine (IIRC I was a bit overwhelmed by the rich rose, jasmine and iris hit, maybe aldehydes too) and that I'd never wear it. I wasn't patient enough to get into the drydown.

I will give it another go when I pass through Isetan again. I haven't sampled many female marketed fragrances, but that's because I'm still pretty new to this and limit my budget, so I'm slow even getting through the male/unisex fragrances I'm interested in. I also need to sample No. 19.

I'm not sure how far on the traditionally femme side I am comfortable in. I don't mind the aldehydes in CdG 2, I love the green rose in Ombre dans L'eau and I've sniffed the SMN jasmine which I thought I could wear in the warmer weather, so Bois des Iles interests me, but I think I need to study it at home first.

You actually detected a true hole in my wardrobe - and I know because that one is technically filled, and I never updated my wardrobe!

I have the "book" of Frederic Malle fragrances, including VE. I just never entered them in my wardrobe, because I considered the sprayers too small. But the reality is that this is how I got to know the Malle line, and they probably should be entered. I love several of them. VE is very interesting to me, but it turns bad skanky on my skin, so I have always opted for tamer vetivers after that.

A kind SA showed me how BdI turns nice and woody as it dries down. Still a bit femme, I will admit, but I'm warming up to it. It's a link back to Beaux, so I find it fascinating for that reason as well. And 19 is definitely worth your time. I love the Poudré flanker, but the original is awesome, too.

Jealous of you for having Isetan! I hear that's an amazing store!

True...but I guess the other part of the game focuses on "how well do you know your BN colleagues?"....But generally you can look at someone's wardrobe and look at the notes in their selections and kinda figure out what they typically like...or don't
