Default NEW FRAGRANCE: LArtisan Parfumeur Batucada Sound of Brazil

    http://www.cafleurebon.com/new-fragr...und-of-brazil/

Created by Karine Vinchon Spehner and Elisabeth Maier. Batacuda opens with lime, cachaa and green mint, ingredients you would find in the famous Caparinha drink. Then its time to dedicate your senses to the exotic flowers of summer, with a heart of ylang-ylang and tiare flower nunances of coconut water and an iodized aquatic note complete the composition.

Can I say I want some already?!?

I'm bummer that it won't be available in the USA until summer is over in my neck of the woods.

Love the name. Ba-ta-cu-da! Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realize that all the things that truly matter - beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace - arise from beyond the mind.

I'm running with you. Not my favorite.

But I do like Karine Vinchon.

I'm looking forward to trying it.
Nice that it has some Brazilian influence. Always refreshing.

I'm interested in this - it is nice to see some fresh input from different perfumers at L'Artisan and as a complete sucker for Brazilian music from the early 60s to the current day I also want to like this one. I'm thinking maybe more Sereia by Suba & Cibelle, than Aqua de Marcos from Jobim - although I'd be happy either way

Yeah, true, I run away from ylang ylang too, but only when it's in scents for myself. I enjoy Ylang Ylang in feminine fragrances when it's paired with watery notes or juicy fruit notes. The ylang ylang makes me think this is Creed's VIW done with a noticable feminine twist.

Regardless, time to play this back-to-back:

Another update on Batucada - the mention of calone makes me a bit wary, but we'll see what they do with it.

For L’Artisan Parfumeur’s forthcoming Batucada, Karine Vinchon in Grasse and Elisabeth Maier in So Paulo initiated a long-distance collaboration since unlike the perfumers of L’Artisan’s other travel-based fragrances, Karine never set foot in Brazil, and relied on her paulista colleague for authenticity. The scent also breaks with the much quirkier Dzonghka or Bois Farine by presenting typical, readily-identifiable Carioca notes. A shot of the popular caipirinha – lime, mint, cachaa and sugar cane syrup --; a beach-y, tropical tan touch of ylang-ylang and tiar; a splash of coconut water and an ozonic accord (yes, it’s calone, I’m afraid) on a musk (ambrettolide), Brazilian vetiver and patchouli base.

There's a review of this up at Cafleurbon - it sounds delicious (I expected nothing less from the rising talent of Karine Vinchon)
