Thread: Frankincense oil? |
Supposedly this grade of Frankincense is the best you can get, is it true and does it come in a liquid form other than resin you burn. I'd like to wear it in an oil if it's available. I just want to find the absolute best Frankincense you can get. Is this grade below the best ?
Frankincense Hojari(Hojary)-Superior( B. sacra)

I don't think it's necessarily the best quality.
Is cambodian oud better than indian? or vice versa? No, they are just different. Some prefer one over the other.
Therapeutic grade - see videos, story, info, research:

there are grades in beads. usually paler and bigger tears are considered better, within their species.
in oils, the grade you are looking for is therapeutic grade.
if you are going to buy from there, I would recommend getting the sampler.
as it's apparent in the perfume industry, more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. Just rarer. Within species and geographical location, of course you may go for the more expensive one, expecting more quality.
I like more terpenic and citric frankincense better. In liquid form, be sure to try both co2 extracted and steam distillation. They are quite different. I like steam distilled better if I were to choose just one, but they are both great.
I just burned some Hojari and the Adeni both from Aluwwah.com. The Hojari is more rich spicy and sweeter and is darker brown some silver. The Adeni is spicy with an almost Citrus verbena vibe not as sweet and rich. And the frankincense i want from scents of the earth is actually Hojari but it is all Silver so it should be like the Brownish Hojari i have now but the better quality and probably to the 5th power in that sweet spicy richness i come to love from the Hojari i have now is that correct my friend? It should be better
I would think you would actually be less impressed with that frankincense.
I suggest you to sample somalian frankincenses.
scents of earth seems to have both carterii and frereana

I will throw in another rec, my go-to for essential oils, and they have a nice frankincense sampler:
Click it.... and if you scroll up a bit there are descriptions of each one. It's good to compare and as someone else mentioned, the varieties have subtle differences.
Not a good idea to put straight essential oils on your skin (if you didn't already know), it's good to mix them with a carrier, I like jojoba best.
edit: the company is Nature's Gift, forgot to add.
