    Default Joop! What About Adam

Here's another one: has anyone here smelled "What About Adam" by Joop? Any good? Worth a blind buy?
Top 3: London Gentleman, Blackbeard's Delight, and Sex Panther. (It works 60% of the time, every time.)

What about... is IMO one of the best fragrances Joop! ever made. It's aromatic, slightly fruity with a decent masculine base. It was also one of the first mainstream scents that had tomato leaf as a note (as far as I know).

Unfortunately, it's discontinued. I haven't seen the juice in stores here for a long time. So, if you happen to find a good offer online, please let me know. It's definitely worth a little money, but not the 80 [ch8364]+ they sell for at eBay.

Scentsei, I'd say no, it's not worth a blind buy. I've got a bottle and love the tomato leaf top notes. After that it dries down to something I find dull, without tomato leaf. I might be wrong but I think it dried down to a Gucci Envy-like clone. I like Envy, so that resemblance isn't bad, but I've already got Envy and wanted more tomato. I wanted more of the summer garden freakout I thought Adam would offer, but it doesn't deliver.

So from my experience I can't recommend a blind buy.

It's one of my least liked scents that I own.
I thought my ladyfriend who loves growing and eating tomatoes would like it - but she didn't like it either!
Worth a blind buy only if extremely cheap. The probability is that you won't like it. But then again you may.

    Hi Folks!

What do you think of this not so commented fragrance? Underrated?
Nothing to write home about it?

Casual, fruity and suitable for summer. Not below average in terms of quality. The shower gel was too watery in texture.

The best thing Joop! ever made.

The blend of mint, citrus, tomato leaf, and whatever is not like anything else I have and is really refreshing for the heat.

Never saw this on a shelf, so I never tried it. Can someone compare it to Boss Bottled? Or is it too different?

I bought a bottle and I think it is pretty ho-hum. The tomato leaf part is the most interesting, but that burns off pretty early in the show. I'll need to wear it again, which I've been planning to do, because I was thinking of using it as an example in a "What was I thinking when I bought..." thread.

I don't think it is much to look forward to wearing. You won't go to bed at night looking forward to wearing What About Adam? in the morning, I mean.

Worst scent I own. When I smell the tomato leaf, I can't help but think the smell could be improved with the addition of some strong pesticide (making it more akin to what my dad grows in his garden).

But then again, I'm not overly fond of tomatoes. I know others have liked it over the years.

I like it on the sunny, happy, smiling people that it suits so well. suits as well for mature, positive life-enjoying, easy minded types as well.
what a positive, refreshing, sunny aura it gives to its user....

I just noticed that the nose behind this scent is Calice Becker, which sort of surprised me.

    Anyone else worn this recently?

In my opinion, this one should not have been discontinued so soon.

I wear this all the time and I confess that it is one of my guilty pleasures almost like Adam and Eve being tempted by the forbidden fruit...well this is my forbidden fruity fragrance because I love this so much that my supply is running low...every time i spray it on myself i know i shouldn't because it's extremely hard to find and once it's gone it's gone.

I agree with you because I have researched this particular fragrance and it is still very much a mystery as to why it got discontinued so soon.... literally a few years after it launched. If anyone knows why this happened please let me know...
