Default Help in choosing fragrance for a long-distance flight!

Title says it all! Flying from the UK to Malaysia, stopping over at Dubai Whichever fragrance I pick I will be keeping an atomiser with me to reapply when needed. Also keeping in mind when I reach Malaysia it will be about 10pm, and still warm-ish.

Prada Infusion D'homme comes to mind as it is light and if it is me then I don't want to be stuck with a va va voom fragrance in such small space like a plane

Just spray lightly. That is a long flight in tight quarters and you don't want to be "that guy". That being said I'd go for the L'instant.

yeah which is why i'm trying to pick the lightest possible scent which won't offend people even IF it's on the heavy side

Whatever you're in the mood for right before your flight

Don't do L'Instant EDP...that can become very cloying in close quarters....Keep it light, there's no need to be that obnoxious guy you get stuck next to on the plane who stinks of cologne....Just bathe and brush your teeth and put a couple sprays of MI on. Leave it at that. Really.

We tend to think other people enjoy smelling our scents as much as we do....and I think most of the time that is simply not the case.

I guess they have a point about being in close quarters. A flight cabin is well ventilated though so I guess it just depends on how well you tend to project. Personally I'd go for aventus. But like I said, I tend to wear whatever I'm in the mood for.

yeah i kind of see the redundancy in putting l'instant edp there...it's too heavy for a long-haul flight. unless i get upgraded to business class then i just might i'm due for an upgrade on bloody emirates anyway i've been flying inter-continental for the past couple of years now!

Probably best to stick with something light, and skip reapplication. I'd strangle someone who came and sat down next to me with full on top note explosion happening.

I dunno...I think I would skip the fragrance. Maybe just use some nice light aromatherapy oil that won't bug your neighbors and will help you to feel calm, refreshed, and relaxed during the flight.

I like to smell fresh when I'm flying a long distance flight and when I get there - especially if the place is hot. I only wear Azzaro Chrome. I haven't tried some of your scents, but I know GIT, L'Instant and Terre de Hermes wouldn't do it for me.

I agree. This is where light and fresh work nicely. Of what the OP has listed, maybe Aventus or GIT very lightly. I've worn TdH on a plane and it got hot - I was definitely feeling some sillage guilt that time.

L'Instant EDP works if people are at least 3 feet away, but right next to you, they're "in the zone", and it could get strange on a long flight. On the other hand, if the person next to you is a middle-eastern fragrance lover - they might like it. Hard to say.

This is definitely one more reason to love flying up in front with the suits. And in the old days, when the smokers and big drinkers were in the back, it was one more reason to ride with them.

+1 on Infusion d'Homme, if you don't have it, just spray yourself at the duty free and you're done for the flight. you can refresh it in Dubai on behalf of your co-travellers, I kindly ask you not to wear L'Instant!

I fly every week for work, and I wear whatever I want. I don't choose a scent based on the fact that "I am getting on a plane". I also don't overload myself with what I am wearing.

From your list, I would recommend Terre d'Hermes - just because it is the best smelling fragrance from the list.

I did this exact same flight last year. When you get off the plane, it will not be "warm-ish", it will be like a Turkish Bathhouse, hot, humid, sticky.

I put on Monsieur de Givenchy at Heathrow, and the civet in the base of that with the humidity was a bad mix...

You want to go as fresh as fresh can be, I would choose Aventus

i think you'll need some fresh scent for the extreme humidity. Aventus would be a great choice for it.

Can't go wrong with GIT as it's more versatile than Aventus.

very low to no sillage fragrances IMO include:

    Gucci pour homme ll
    eau de Cartier
    Voyage d'hermes
    Bulgari pour homme

Not L'instant. I get great projection from that

If the flight is full then break out the strongest scent you can find in hopes of having your own row.

Not Kouros! The vapor trail might make it's way into the cockpit and kill the pilots. Come to think of it you could shoot yourself to the moon with that jetblast sillage.

I'm not familiar with all the items on the list so my first thought was TdH, but I voted for L'humaniste.
