Default Help me pick a scent for my weekend trip to Italy.

Hello. I`m going on a weekend trip to Venezia next week, and I will carry only one fragrance with me that I can use both casual day, and evenings out. I will pick one among the fragrances below. Which one do you recommend among these 5?

    Terre d`Hermes parfume
    Hermès Poivre Samarcande
Tom Ford Italian Cypress (maby to "formal"?)
    Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa
    Acqua di Parma Colonia

Intensa - you won't have to reapply

If you don't mind smelling like anybodyelse I'd say TDH (it's VERY popular around here), otherwise Poivre Samarcande.

Is TDH very popular in Italy?

If you had more time, I would have sent you 5 and 10 ml atomizers. This way you can take several with you.

For sheer versatility, TdH is hard to beat. But I'd probably go with Italian Cypress. It will make a good conversation starter.

Intensa. Man I love that frag.

Having just spent a week in Rome I would go for Intensa. That said, however, I am not familiar with IC and PS.

    Enjoy your time!

I find the florals in Colonia can be a bit overwhelming in the heat, though it does calm down. I prefer Colonia as a 'cooler weather' cologne. I was wearing Intensa yesterday and I think the Mediterranean heat will bring it to life nicely (it has good logevity but a bit quiet in UK weather).

Don't bring anything because you'll buy something new while you're there!

Big vote for Acqua di Parma Colonia. I always bring it along on vacations, especially if I'm going to upscale resort locations. Always appropriate, never fails. Understated elegance. Pure class. You can't go wrong with it. Makes you feel sophisticated and clever. Fairly short-lived, and you'll happily re-apply. Must pack this one.

PS: Why not take decants of all of them? C'mon now - you ARE a Basenoter, right?
