Dior Homme would be a good choice.
I want to buy a new fragrance. One lower priced and sold locally. I was thinking of Dior Homme maybe The other more of a Niche type fragrance but this I will order samples online.
So I was on fragrantica and it looks like most of the fragrances that I like are Woody Floral Musk such as the following.
Creed Green Irish Tweed
Creed Millisime Imperial
Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin
JPG Le Male
Terre de Hermes

Dior Homme would be a good choice.
Oh dear god, buy the Dior Homme now because A. It's quite affordable and B. It is sold everywhere. C. Probably the best designer fragrance to come out in who knows how long.
Also, everyone is freaking out about it getting re-formulated soon, so grab a bottle now before it gets bastardized and you have a mob of Dior Homme enthusiasts from Basenotes in a bidding war for pre-reformulated bottles of the precious elixir.
Please feel free to check out my Swap Thread - Patou pour Homme, L'Instant de Guerlain PH Extreme, Dior Homme Intense, Pure Malt, Pure Coffee and many more! Click Here For My Swap Thread
So current stock of Dior Homme is not reformulated yet, right?
If you can find the one with the silver tube inside the bottle, that's the pre-reformulation juice
+1 for Dior Homme. Affordable, unique, and quite elegant IMO.
2. Encre Noire
3. Tobacco Vanille
I've heard that the black/silver tube is the best indicator of pre-post reformulation.
I'm on the last 10ml of my Dior Homme, and it will inevitably need to be replaced. Is there anyway of telling when the product is boxed however?
When they're sealed instore, I can't imagine many sales assistants being willing to rip one open to see?
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
not so much floral, but musky / earthy...
LOST! in scent and music
+1 on Dior Homme, plus try Hypnose Homme Lancome, perhaps L'Instant pour Homme Guerlain and Prada Amber Intense pour Homme. Oh, and some Lutens, perhaps Chene.
À l'air libre les oiseaux ont eux aussi le vertige (camille)
ST Dupont - Ph (declaration)
Sean John Unforgivable (Creed MI)
Dunhill - London (GIT)
Burberry - Touch (the feel of vanilla)
Jacomo de Jacomo - Rouge (le male, you may also try A*men)
Montale red Vetyver (Terre d'Hermes)
Ormond Jayne Isfarkand (Terre d'Hermes)
The ones you mention aren't particularly floral. If you want to try a floral, you can check Troisieme Homme by Caron, a strange floral backed by a strong barbershop musk (which is what you seem to like, eg le Male). It's not quite niche but it's not available everywhere.
For niche, you can try some woody oriental roses, like 1876 by Histoires des Parfum or Rose d'homme by Rosine.

Terre d' Hermes
Classy, woody, light citrus. Simple and elegant, w/ good longevity.

Prada Infusion D'Iris
After wearing Dior Homme all day, I can't decide if I really really like. I do like it though. What I don't like is a note in it that smells similar to Prada Infusion D'Iris. I guess it is Iris. Its the lipstick smell.
So will the Dior Homme Intense be stronger with cocoa and less lipstick smell?
I read that in the intense, the lipstick vibe is less, but not non-existent.
I actually like the lipstick feel. Hated it first, then got intrigued, and now I actually enjoy it.
Some to try:
Encre Noire, Bond No. 9 Wall Street, L'Instant de Guerlain, Bvlgari Black, and L'eau par Kenzo Eau Indigo (which I found very similar to Declaration).
I'd recommend Green Irish Tweed. It's a jack of all trades. I like Dior Homme sorta, but that lipstick vibe kinda bothers me. Just my opinion, I guess I'm in the minority on that one! Try to sample if you can, even if it means ordering from the Perfumed Court or something. I'm VERY glad I sampled, because I tried lots of very praised scents on Basenotes, and only liked about 2/8 that I tried. Be careful!
