Default Fall Is Coming, Help Me Pick My First Diptyque

Like a lot of folks here (I suspect), I'm a serious candle junky. In the cooler months, I keep my house peppered with scented candles of all types, but mostly I've been a Yankee Candle gal (you can't beat the value for the price). I have always had my eye on the lovely Diptyques though and reading some of your descriptions has really got my juices flowing. I'm a complete Diptyque newb and was wondering if y'all could help me out with some recommendations?

In the Fall I like to burn candles with spicy, warm notes. My favorites from Yankee Candle are Harvest (notes: cinnamon, cloves, musk, sweet apples, pumpkin) and Spiced Pumpkin (notes: pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar). I know the Diptyques tend to be less gourmand than this, but I wondered if any of them would evoke the "fall feeling" of these Yankee Candles?

Cool Re: Fall Is Coming, Help Me Pick My First Diptyque

i suggest you two kinds of diptyque

1st for the calming evenings on the fireside = take their famous "Feu de bois"

2nd for hot contact phases between partners = take their luxurious sensual oriental "Opoponax"

so you can get through the darker months.. enjoy

I really adore Myrrhe, but I have no clue if it's your thing.

Chenę. This is the epitome of the colder months.
    Chenę means oak btw.

Thanks for the suggestion guys! I love incense, so I think Myrrh would definitely be my thing. MN thanks for the descriptions on when to use them- loved it!

Spices marinated in vanilla. AKA divine.

I haven't found my myrrh holy grail fragrance yet but I instantly liked Diptyque's Myrrhe scented candle the first time I smelled it. I also have Feu de Bois but I still prefer Myrrhe. Give a try to Cire Trudon candles as well if you can find them, they are extremely good (more expensive than Diptyque though).

What Candle is closer to Eau Lente? Opoponax or Myrrh?

Also what candle is closer to L'eau?

Neither of those. It'd be a cinnamon candle. EL is a cinnamon concoction.

Yes, I'd definitely agree with Opoponax = Eau Lente; something cinnamon-y for L'Eau.

    now i need your advice...
one of my top candle is jo malone "amber & sweet Orange", now i am looking for a amber fragrance which is very similar to this candle smell..i am getting crazy i think theres nothing out there which is close to this.

amber and sweet orange is rich amber with a sweet orange and incense. etro´s ambra is like a ice wafer more foody, all the others out there are without orange..

    thx

I like Eau Lente a lot and also love the Opoponax candle - good chance that if you like one you'll like the other.

I see the Xmas Candles are out - gonna try the Pine one first.

OK tried 'em both - for the OP I would suggest the orangey coloured Xmas one, rather than the green piney one.

I bought my first Diptique candle spontaneously (as if i usually plan my purchases :-) and it is JASMIN, unlit it smells almost identical as Serge Lutens Sarrasins:-) , so i wanted that smell desperately , its great evening relaxing scent, needs 30 mins to take over the place and i like how natural it smells, it is like having flowers in vase:-)
