    Default Lyon, France

I'm going to visit Lyon this summer and would love to visit some parfumeries, could someone recommend any? TIA!

Don't have any advice, but just wanted to say that I think it's great you're going. Is this for work or just a vacation? I'm sure they have at least a couple swanky shops.

    Thanks, Key!

It's a work trip, I wish I have time to visit Annick Goutal, Frédéric Malle, L'Artisan and the boutique I was recommended to on the men's forum. If not, I hope I can visit at least Galéries Lafayette perfume dept...

Yesterday I tried to move this thread from the men's forum but only managed to lose it completely in the process.

Apologies to David and Garrigue, whose informative posts brimming with great tips got lost, too. Could you please post your tips again? I would really appreciate it!

And Grant: this thread is still in the wrong place but I don't dare to touch it, I don't want it to get lost again... so could you please help?

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

It's ok Tigrushka. I didn't save my post, but the idea was (in addition to the different places mentioned elsewhere) :
    - Frédéric Malle have no shop of their own in Lyon, but distributed through a normal parfumerie
    - try L'artisanat monastique (= Monastic) rue du Plat, off Place Bellecour, for excellent toiletries few addicts have heard of. They are very good value, and hard to find in some other French regions.
I've used their products for years and so far never found anything in standard retailing that compares favourably with what they have in the "authentic style".
Their online store is confusing even for natives : in French : http://www.monastic-euro.org/ In Produits, beauty products are listed under Hygiène, both Du corps & De la maison ! The best shampoos, soaps and foaming bath I know are Chantelle, Ganagobie and L'Etoile)

Many thanks for the tips, Garrigue! And many thanks, Grant for moving the thread to the right place! [smiley=smiley.gif]

La Mûre Favorite is the shop that sells both Frédéric Malle and L'Artisan scents. Annick Goutal is my target #1, though, I finally hope to get some Eau du Fier...

    Default Lyon parfumeries visited

    L'Atelier Parfumé, 27 Rue Tupin, 69002 Lyon
    tél/fax 04 72 40 23 14

A lovely little parfumerie with a fabulous selection: Annick Goutal, Caron urn parfums (!!!), Creed, Gobin Daudé, Mauboussin, Les Parfums de Rosine, Serge Lutens etc. The saleslady was not only very friendly and helpful but also a real expert. I definitely recommend this little shop!

La Mûre Favorite, 19 Cours Franklin-Roosevelt, 69006 Lyon
    tél 04 78 93 94 47

Nice little boutique with both jewellery and perfume: Aqua di Parma, Frédéric Malle, L'Artisan, Les Parfums de Rosine, Serge Lutens etc.

I did, Lyon is a lovely town!

Saw some Gobin Daudé scents at L'Atelier Parfumé, but that was all, hope the line won't die.

There are quite a few perfumeries in Lyon, so you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Sephora, Mariaunaud, Yves Rocher, Lancome or l'Occitane, etc…
There’s the Atelier Parfumé which is one of the best traditional perfumeries in Lyon (in the Presqu’îles quarter).
There’s also the Mûre Favorite which is a luxury designer perfumery.

Does anyone know of perfume workshops in Lyon? Nothing too serious--just a basic sniffing workshop that would introduce novices to the basics?
I'll check the places listed above to see if they hold events like this.
L'Arisan and Parfums de Niolaï organize this sort of thing in Paris quite often. I'm hoping there's something in Lyon, too.
