    -CHANEL allure homme sport
    -CHANEL allure homme edition blanche
    -Dior homme sport

Can't go wrong with any of these, isn't too expensive, good amount of complements, very versatile, good longevity and good projection. Overall smell is fairly decent, and good blind buy fragrance.

You can't go wrong with a $20 bottle of Michael Jordan. Bulgari Aqua is one of the best aquatics you can get. Allure Homme Blanche is more of a classy summer fragrance, but it smells fantastic and is about $70 to $80 dollars a bottle.

Agree, and no dearer than many out there. If you have a Tiffany store in your town they should carry it, I haven't seen Tiffany for Men (an oriental, worth checking out, there's 50ml & 100ml) or the Sport one anywhere else.

$30-50 is the ideal price range, but I'll go higher if it's worth it. I'm not looking for aquatics though, I have plenty.

No, I have 4 or 5 different aquatic fragrances including cool water and I'm trying to branch out a bit. I find them really boring for the most part and the longevity lacks.

Edit: and I live in Seattle, so its not particularly the warmest or best climate for them.

I'm a big fan of Dior Homme Sport. With a good dose of ginger, it's fresh without being too fruity or "aquatic." Pretty potent to boot.

For a sport scent, I like Lacoste Essential Sport (the one with the blue juice). It's a very tart grapefruit/Ginger combo with great longevity. I also like Burberry Sport as well (it's also a tart citrus/Ginger fragrance, with a wood base).

They've both already mentioned, but I can add my recommendations to the two that I have/had - Polo Sport & Chanel Allure Sport. Both are decent.

David Beckham, Intimately Beckham for Men. It's a great fragrance, Sexy but not overly so and very subtle you get kind of a sweet wood and light spices with just a splash of vanilla [In my opinion] however it's not cupcake girly vanilla. Won't break the bank at 30-50 dollars retail.

You sure you have the right Bulgari Aqua? There is nothing floral or feminine about it. It is actually a spicy/peppery aqua and isn't as light as others. Maybe you tried Marine.

As far as sports, I don't like many labled Sport but Chanel Allure Sport is best I can find. I used to like Polo but smelsl too syrupy now to me.

The first time I tried Habit Rouge Sport I didn't like it at all because I compared this one to Habit Rouge. However, after having tried many times, the more time I spent with HR Sport, the more I liked it.It is a floral, slightly woody interpretation of Habit Rouge with a nice peppery note. Very enjoyable for summer!

I would say that longevity and silage is about average with Burberry Sport on me. It's definitely not a longevity monster, but not many in the aquatic/fresh/sport category are. The longevity on the other one I mentioned (Lacoste Essential Sport) is much better. Lacoste used a technology in their Essential line that is supposed to extend the life of the topnotes, & it does seem to work.

The two scents are kind of similar, but the ginger and wood are more prominent in the Burberry, while the Lacoste is all about the sour grapefruit.

    ^that's sarcasm

sample and find something you like. i used to wear frags to the gym based on 'Sport' moniker, but honestly they end up turning sour citrus

recently, the most palatable have been non-sport frags like YSL Kouros, YSL Rive Gauche, YSL L'Homme and Guerlain L'Eau. Hermes Caleche is marketed to women, but it's pleasant as a gym scent (used sparingly). That being said, so is Hermes Poivre Samarcande and Gucci PH1 and Marc Jacobs Bang.

but to answer your question, try Dior Eau Sauvage or Boss Pure

Actually an intriguing question to consider. The hallmark of a sports fragrance, at least in my mind, would be straightforward clean, zesty citrus. Obviously you can wear anything to gym you like, from Azzaro pour Homme to Samsara, but does that make them sport scents? I'd say no, except for you.

  56. #56

Default Re: Whats a good sport fragrance that wont break the bank?

That was actually an honest question. If it's about a refreshing, invigorating fragrance rather than ones with a sport in the name, I think wording like that would be better, as if for nothing else, it would get more and possibly better advices.

In that case, some of my advices would be:
    Eau du Sud
    Orange Verte
    Villoresi Uomo
    Balle De Match
    Cartier Roadster
    ...
    and many more.

Your best friend should be overstock.com. There are several low budget choices to choose from. Have two browser windows open so you can search the BN directory as you browse.

IMO one great cologne as a signature scent should work everywhere. What's wrong with smelling elegant when you sweat ? If it's just to use when you workout use an axe body wash. If you want a sporty scent because you are a sporty guy I recommend a green/fresh scent. It can still be elegant though and not just necessarily for sports.
