um…no. not at all.
On the rating of this cologne at Fragrantica, someone said Midnight in Paris's drydown resembled Pure Malt. I personally have never smelled MIP but was wondering who has. Many also allude to a creamy undertone associated with this fragrance. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
What does it smell like though? Many say its nice and sensual so I am wondering. One individual who reviewed DHI online said he prefered this over DHI as its his scent to go dating with. Weird.
Also know that Midnight in Paris comes in both an EDP and EDT.
And why is it weird to choose this over DHI? Last time I checked you hadn't even smelt DHI and were harassing everyone to give you a detailed explanation of how it smelt. Therefore your opinion is based on... nothing, as you haven't sampled either.
I also agree that it is close to Bulgari Black, but 2nd one being better one.
It has no similiarity with Pure Malt at all.

Midnight in Paris is a woody-oriental leather scent. Opens with a citrus note enhanced with an aromatic touch of rosemary and green tea. In the middle, a floral note of black lily-of-the-valley is warmed up with black Lapsang Souchong tea and styrax (a leathery and balsamic note). The drydown pairs balmy-vanillic notes of benzoin with tonka bean. The outcome is both oriental and leathery.
Pure Malt - ‘a woody-peaty’, the scent has woody-oriental features, as well as developing fruity and slightly smoky/peaty tonalities - for about 30 minutes.
I suspect the Fragrantica correspondent is smelling the styrax and the tonka - and can't smell anything else.
No I love MIP but it is not similar
It is a better version of dior homme and bvlgari black
No. Not even close.
2. Encre Noire
3. Tobacco Vanille
On me MiP is an improved Bulgari Black, while PM is a toned down malted similar scent of Michael Kors for men (not equals but with a lot of scents in common).
These comparisons are getting odder and odder.
Wow whats with the Pure Malt comparison threads..? Or is it an inside joke?
Pure Malt is God (said in a Rick James "Cocaine is a helluva drug" tone)
Actually Dudester, Pure Malt = Pascal Morabito Or Black. And Or Black is one amazing fragrance certainly worthy of a blind buy ( for you).
Seeking: Bottles/decants : of Feeling Man, Gucci pour Homme, Essence of John Galliano, Nicole Miller (vintage), Opium pour Homme, Oxford & Cambridge, Concentré D'Orange Verte...etc.
Seeking decant/sample of Jil Sander Feeling Man, Cacharel Nemo, Bijan for Men EDC, Lanvin for Men, Giorgio VIP, Il Lancetti and other old school frags ....etc. I have samples to swap.
Please PM me !
Tim McGraw's Southern Blend. It's $20 has a whiskey note and actually smells pretty damn good. If nothing else it'll hold you over till Pure Malt is re released.
If I say yes will you stop posting and go buy something already?
They're almost exactly the same in that they are both fragrances. With MiP you have a powdery/floral tea scent, and with Pure Malt you get a sort of sweet boozy gourmand with no shortage of patchouli (unfortunately).
Completely different... Both are nice, but I prefer Pure Malt.
I have only tried the EDT of MIP and I think it smells in no way similar to Pure Malt. I like both scents but I think that MIP is signature scent worthy for someone who is looking for a sweet inoffensive fragrance with moderate projection and above average scent trail. While I do like this fragrance quite a bit what you get in the first hour isn't much different in the drydown.
Whoever said that on Malt's dry down resembles MIP , is on crack for sure. MIP moves in a very Iris/Vanilla direction where as Malt's drydown goes in a cofee/alcoholic /boozy direction.
As a side note , I find the Jaipur EDP a MIP on steroids , the vanilla note stays on like no ones business.
