Default Desiring True Oriental, Spicy and Rich

OK I'm having trouble here. Looking for a change. Typically have worn Angel (can't anymore b/c my Mom adopted it and now reminds me of her), Samsara, Shalimar, Black Orchid (don't love - not rich and spicy like I like) and I really want something unique, strong, sensual, and a true oriental. Would also consider woody oriental scents as well. I'm over analyzing and need my forum friends for suggestions. Thanks ^o^

Try to get your hands on some VINTAGE classics like Opium, Coco, Vol de Nuit. In Niche, Ambre Sultan and Fumerie Turque might please you.

Try La Mome by Balmain. It's a spice rose oriental. You can buy this at discounters.

I really want to try LaMome. It sounds beautiful.

I recommend Gucci Eau de Parfum, 2002 version. The one with the brown juice in the clear glass bottle. It is so spicy and rich. Definitely one of my favorite fall fragrances.

Diptyque's Eau Lente and Kenzo Jungle l'Elephant are great. You'd probably enjoy Chanel Coromandel, and Bois Exotique by Ava Luxe. Ooooh, and and and, you could check out Aqaba by Miriam Miriani - it's a big, spicy, incense-floral. Or maybe Habanita from Molinard. Or L'Air du Desert Marocain from Tauer.

I suggest ordering decants of Guerlain's Bois d'Armenie and Brulant Oriental. These are soooo rich and smooth. Yummm.

Definitely give L'Agent by Agent Provocateur a try, its very dark, woodsy, spicy, incense-y and earthy. Its a very full fragrance and has amazing sillage and staying power.

You might want to look into the montales-- it is hard to get more oriental than those. You also might want to look at the regina harris scents.

You could try "Khunja" by Shaik....it's available in the Middle East, don't know about anywhere else. Maybe it can be ordered on line?
I think it would certainly be worth a try.

    Guerlain's Tonka Impériale
    R. Piguet's Visa

Seconding Amouage's Epic Woman, which is Oriental and very spicy indeed - and would suggest Tolu by Ormonde Jayne, which is rich in amber, spice and Peruvian balsam, and possibly the most "Oriental" scent I've ever sniffed.

Yes! YD and a lot of the classic mentioned above would do the trick.

I"m crazy about Tolu these days. An updated oriental

As others have said, it is worth testing several from the Amouage and Lutens lines.

So many excellent suggestions; I'll add Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier George Sand. It's a spicy oriental very much in the manner of things like Cinnabar, Opium, Aqaba etc., with an outstanding robust yet smooth, aged patchouli note.

Oh, yes! George Sand is wonderful (if oyu like patchouli--and I do!)

I was going to add that my evolution as a oriental lover has led me away from the classics (I once loved Scherrer 2, which wasn't that popular, but it fits the bill), to variations on the theme, such as the aforementioned Tolu, and also Chergui (lots of coumarin, some tobacco--a favorite for a few years now),--and yes, George Sand.

Ispahan by Yves Rocher- though discontinued, Yves Rocher subsidiaries might still have it in stock, well, I hardly experienced an Oriental so rich, so versatile, so brooding, so voluptuously addictive

More votes for the previously mentioned and wonderful EL Cinnabar, Amouage Epic, and Ormonde Jayne Tolu.

I'll also throw in for SL Bois Oriental (violet, peach, plum, rose, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, musk, Atlas cedarwood, and vanilla..rich, warm, spicey, and only a touch of gourmand) and The Different Company's Oriental Lounge (Bergamot, curry leaf, pepper, red rose, labdanum, tonka bean and satinwood...I like to think of this one as an "Oriental scent for beginners," as it's not especially heavy).
