L'Art et la Matiere by Guerlain: Which bottles do you like?
My Answer: Tonka Imperiale
They are OK - but I did not find one to be FBW.

Neither did I. Especially at that pricepoint. Cuir Beluga was my favorite.

I really like Bois d'Armenie. But it is too expensive I think.
Tried them all and loved Tonka Imperial and Bd'A
Tonka Imperiale is too sweet on my skin, unfortunately. Smells like straight up marzipan on me. My favorite of the line would have to be Bois d'Armenie. It is the closest I've found to the scent of the air after a good rain. FBW for me.
Bois d'armanie...def FBW!
SALE:Bond no.9, Armani Code Summer, Prada, Kenzo, Amouage...more!!
This is my favorite series from Guerlain, after Les Parisiennes. I own and love Rose Barbare: a luscious, sensuous, ambery rose. Cuir Beluga or Bois D'Armenie will probably be my 2nd purchase. I also like Tonka Imperiale, but wouldn't wear it enough to justify a full bottle. My only suggestion to Guerlain for the L'Art et la Matiere collection is that they would consider offering these in smaller bottles to make them more affordable.

The most satisfying and very-Guerlain for me is also the newest, Tonka Impériale. It smells both modern and like the good old days. Yes, marzipan that is! L'Heure Bleue made me hooked on marzipan.
I think the bottles look very cheap for scents as expensive as the L'Art et la Matiere line.
Regarding the scents, I like Tonka Imperiale and Bois d'Armenie.

My fave is Tonka Impériale, and
I do own a FB of that one.
I have samples of them all, and
other FB worthy frags are:
Bois d'Arménie and Cuir Beluga.

Same as Kelvin, i really enjoy every single one of them except Cruel Gardenia. Bois d'Armenie, Cuir Beluga, Angelique Noire, Iris Ganache and Tonka Imperiale all start in different top/heart notes but those eventually dry down into the similar vanilla theme. (SDV could be part of it too) Rose Barbare pretty much change how i see rose scent. As i used to feel intimidated by the thought of being too ladyish. But since Guerlain's given me a decent size decant of RB and i have been wearing it at home for couple times, i'd say it is actually pretty nice. Luscious dark rose emerge with a faintly tea note in the middle.
I voted for Tonka Imperiale, but Bois D´Armenie is a close next. Cuir Beluga is good too. FB worthy? Hell yes!!
I have several (Bois D'Armenie, Cuir Beluga, Tonka Imperiale) I'm going to get more. I think several are FBW; totally worth the price IMO. SDV is moving to that line from what I understand too.
Rose Barbare is a great unisex rose, but nice as it is, it's not spectacular. A 10 ml decant is all I am willing to pay for. I wish the bottles had been nicer, and that they don't include a cap, well that is just mean.
I haven't tried them all in any great depth but own Tonka Imperiale & Cuir Beluga.
I like Tonka Imperiale more each time I wear it - considerably more complex than first impressions might suggest, and beautifully balanced - it never tips off the edge into something too sweet. As Mr. G mentions, it's very Guerlain (and not a million miles away from their 180 Ans Ltd. Edition, either).
I think I need to explore Rose Barbare now.
Iris Ganache is awesome and one of my all-time favorites. I have gotten numerous compliments while wearing it.
I've noticed that these set of bottles are sold at Neiman Marcus but only at key locations. Can anyone tell me if they have seen these bottles at their local Neiman Marcus?
All are very good, but my favorite is Rose Barbare.

Bois d'Armenie, which is in many ways a variation of Bvlgari Black (same perfumer - Annick Menardo).
I will need to look at Bois D'Armenie and Cuir Beluga the next time im at Neiman Marcus.
