Default Scents with fantastic openings, but gross dry downs.

    1. Creed Original Vetiver. Amazing sharp opening, but the drydown is this odd musky dried grass smell.

    2. Creed EROLFA. The dry down (and the opening too, but to a lesser extent) have a faint onion smell to me.

    3. Bvlgari Aqva Marine Toniq. Great opening. Foul and disgusting drydown.

    Azure Lime - Tom Ford

Fantastic lime opening(Top Notes). Musk and citrus in the dry down with sh*ty longevity.

Eau De Sauvage by Dior. Great citrus, lemon opening, but very dated drydown to me which starts immediately after 3 to 4 minutes.

Rose 31. Amazing opening, but a very banal dry down (by no means gross though).

D&G Light Blue with the best cool grapefruit juniper opening for a fragrance. The opening sells the fragrance and it does move off the shelves at retailers, but then the base sneaks up on you with a bad cottage cheese synthetic smell. Yuck. This fragrance typifies the trend towards creating great top notes to sell a scent and ignoring the eventual base notes that follow.

Fantastic is much too strong a word, but I certainly did find the opening of B*Men much more pleasant than what came after.

Escada Sentiment with its very interesting and odd smell of jackfruit but unfortunately the opening doesn't last not even 20 minutes leaving a messy sweet fruity drydown.

Agree with you about D&G Light Blue, lovely fresh citrusy opening that dries down to a "high class" version of Windex. Oddly enough though I've been craving that smell. It's not gross or anything, but I loved the aquatic "waterfall" opening of the original Island by Michael Kors. It dries down very quickly to a very humdrum floral.

I wouldn't necessarily call the drydown gross, but I love the opening of Guerlain Homme, but don't care for the drydown. I wish it could hold that amazing lime/mint note and not turn into a generic sweet/boring base. I may try the L'eau version, but it's the lime note I love in the original, and I think the main citrus boost in the L'eau version is grapefruit & not lime.

The opening of Burberry Sport is godly. The drydown isn't gross but it just becomes a "meh" sport fragrance

Loewe Solo - extremely beautiful, fresh, modern beginning, which after half an hour disappears and what remains is much less interesting.

la nuit...such an awesome opening is ruined by terrible basenotes IMHO.

Tom Fords Black Orchid-the opening is a stunner, the drydown is spoiled mushrooms.

Absolutely. I thought I had a winner...at first but the dry down started to annoy me.

I'd like to add Habit Rouge to the list. What starts off as a promising citrus/spice blast leads to an overpowering "powder" smell reminiscent of an old age home.
