Default Noob starter needing advice :)

Hey this is my first thread in here.

Guy, circa 40 years young, need new Eau De Toilette recommendation.

The last 3 years I have used Allure Homme, Boss No. 6 and D&G Homme.

Going back in time so just bought some old stuff on fragrancex.com - all EDT SPRAYS:

Azzaro PH - loved this spicy dark scent in the 80's

BOSS NO. 6 Yet again love this stuff

    Kouros Body - love eucalyptus

Oscar De La Renta Pour Lui ORIGINAL - fresh, spicy & great

Davidoff Cool Water - I know people in here hate this and says Irish Tweed and Freshman are the real stuff, but bought this as I loved Cool Water in start 90's and stopped using it because everyone started using it, so haven't bought it in 20 years, but like the mint fresh scent to be honest.

My all time favorite scent was the original Davidoff, that smelled AWESOME on me. Like old cigar on some, but AWESOME on me (this coming from myself, friends, my brother and GF)

I hate citrus scents Luke Aqua Di Gio and Allure Homme Sport - HATE THEM !!

Need some new inspiration - can anyone help

Caron Pour un homme: lavender vanilla, fresh yet very classic.

YSL Rive Gauche: In the same general category as Azzaro PH. You might really like it. Great stuff.

If you love eucalyptus, you'd probably like Art of Shaving Sandalwood.

I've decided to order 2 125 ml EDT YSL Rive Gauche. Used to be extreme with 15-20 scents to choose from. Now I want it simpler but still not simple so will use these EDT sprays:

Oscar De La Renta Pour Lui
    Azzaro Pour Homme
    Cool Water
    Boss No. 6 Bottled
    YSL Rive Gauche
    YSL Kouros Body

    Reserve:
    Chanel Allure Homme
    D&G Pour Homme

    Thanks for helping me all

LOL @ when you ask for 'new inspiration' and people recommend Caron and Rive Gauche

The closer I get to 40, the less interest I have in the Azzaro PH, Rive Gauche, or anything made by Caron

I agree with chipper that you should pick up a vetiver. I recommend the darker version like Encre Noire as well as the bright Creed Original Vetiver (or Mugler Cologne - same scent, really). An updated modern vetiver is Prada's Milano Infusion de Vetiver.

As far as tobacco goes, look at Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille.

Also, as a 40yr old, look at Guerlain or Hermes collections. There's bound to be something you like.
