Default Do scents blended by American noses have any discernable styles?

Some time ago a stockist I know insisted that there were differences in styles between scents blended by American noses regarding those blended by French perfumists. Yesterday I have been asked about this. I mentioned my stockist's opinions, namely, that American blends were bolder than French ones, but, still, I have never given it a thought.

My first impression is that this differentiation is just gross generalization: I find that the words "scents" and "American noses" include a wide arrange of options, thus implying immense diversity: it might include inexpensive fragances sold in supermarkets and drugstores, low-end local and high-end global designers scents or even niche perfumes. Besides, some American brands might have asked non American perfumists to blend their perfumes.

Anyway, you might want to share ideas around this concept if you have observed styles which are markedly different regarding scents blended by French noses. Your opinions will be more than welcome...

According to the opinion of a Non-American and Non-specialist: yes, and quite pleasantly, yet also intriguingly and fascinatingly so

Budget classics (should they not been devised by American noses too, rather than by European ones) like Halston Z14 or Old Spice Original indeed have a brasher, more straightforward overall note, yet not entirely dissimilar to certain gourmand and also barbershoppy range of subtleties, yet with a less ethereal and more muscled note than e.g. French creations

Would be interesting to find out how niche frags by American noses compare to the overall quality, value, achievements, styles etc. of the niche market as a whole

It's not the nationality that defines the output of a perfumer but environment he or she grew up in.
How many varieties of foods, spices, natural ingredients was he or she exposed to.

At work alone there are at least 5 different spices used to make drinks. Like cardamom, saffron, cloves and aniseed. Then at least 5 varieties of tea.
