"...There is an alarming amount of plagiarism in the launches of this fall..." this is exactly what I thought after being at Fragranze 2011. Welcome to the rip-off party!

Oops, rambling and incoherent ... must not be a native speaker. Also makes lots of claims without backing them up with evidence, or at least specific opinions. More throwing out statements it seemed to me. No structure to the article. Ah well, not everyone can manage a good editorial.

Given the numerlious awards over the years that the writers blog has received, it seems likely to me that the article's author has the sort of credibility needed to be taken seriously. Well worth reading, if only to see if, as years pass, things shake out in the manner she sees them taking.

As an aside, I've got to cast my lot with Turin and Sanchez when it comes to their take on the growing influence of the internet : Large companies with big ambitions can no longer afford to produce bad perfumes, whereas smaller firms with integrity have opportunities to flourish in ways that might never have been open the them in the past.

I suspect we'll hear what she has to say about that in the second installation of her article.

(And yes, perhaps not a "native speaker"... of English. But she apparently lives in Paris, for crying out loud.)

OCTAVIAN COIFAN IS MAN, and a well-respected reviewer of the world-wide perfume scene, inside and out. Anyone really into perfume keeps his blog in the forefront of their daily readings! JEESH!
