    Default Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte

A good friend of mine just got back from a Mediterranean cruise and snagged a couple small bottles of this from his trip. This stuff is incredibly good but it lasts less than an hour. Such a shame for one of the best frags I have smelled as of late. I'm thinking about also picking up a bottle of the Hermes Terre'de Hermes. How close is the Terre to this stuff? Thanks!

The Terre stuff - not close at all. Get the Concentre version of D'Orange Verte instead.

This (although even the Concentre does not last particularly long).

That said, Terre is a superb scent and also easily worth a purchase. It has no lasting issues, BTW.

I know Terre gets a lot of pub but what does it smell like? Does it have any orange in it? Orange done right smells very luxurious.

It has some great orange and grapefruit top notes mixing with cedar (a heavy dose of Iso E Super) and vetiver. It is nothing like Eau d'Orange Verte or Concentre d'Orange Verte, however (as they really are more focused on the Orange).

They're both completely different but both worthy to own IMO.

Anyone know of a quality site that has free 2 day shipping? TIA

Wasn't too crazy about the opening. Too much cumin for my liking. I definitely see the comparisons to a freshly cut orange peel if that is your thing.

If you're looking for an Hermes fragrance with a prominent orange note, you might want to try Eau des Merveilles. Like TdH, it's nothing at all like Eau d'Orange Verte, but it's very good in its own right. It's marketed as a feminine, but it's perfectly wearable by men. Elixir des Merveilles is also very good. It's much more of a gourmand, and even further afield from Eau d'Orange Verte, but it's really an excellent fragrance.
