Default Black currant (cassis) absolute suppliers uk

    Hi
Does anyone know a reasonably priced black currant absolute supplier that sells relatively small amounts (5-25 ml) in the uk? I used to use essentially oils but they have now folded.
    Many thanks

    Blackcurrant bud any use? http://www.essentially-me.co.uk/prod...t_bud_absolute

I know you've just placed some orders with us, but not sure if you'd found this...! ;-)

    Best wishes

So far as I know blackcurrant absolute is only made from the buds. There is an oil from the seeds but if an absolute is made from the berries I don't know it. For a bright cassis aroma I use a synthetic blend, the bud absolute produces a darker, deeper scent.

Thanks both. It is blackcurrant bud essential oil that I am after. I'm not after a dilution and only want the pure essential oil. If anyone hears of a small scale supplier in the uk please let me know. Many thanks.

You can buy blackcurrant bud essential oil (you'd need to check whether that is technically the same as absolute in this case - everyone uses different definitions - but from the price I'd say it is) from Bristol Botanicals, the minimum order is 5ml. Delivery isn't always quick, but they are reliable and I've had no problems with the quality of any of their products - I have not bought this particular oil from BB but I do buy from them regularly.
