Default What is the Yang base really like ?

Reading the reviews for Yang, my thought is that the variation is due to whether the reviewer focused on the top, mid, or base notes. I'd like to know, since Yang is said to have excellent longevity, what the last stage of development is like, and about when does it start (two hours in, for example). Thanks.

To me it's more of a clean cedar than sandalwood. Can't tell you when it starts though. We are talking about the Jacques Fath scent, yes?

Yes, but then it was re-released as Ying-Yang, or something like that. Also, some describe it as very sweet, which is usually not perceived as "clean." Would you say it's sweet for a hour and then it goes into a cedar-dominant base, for example?

To be honest, I would have to apply it again. It's been a while since I last used it.

Okay, no problem. I see it selling so cheaply now (on ebay) that I'm tempted! LOL.

I own this one (The original Fath version). I find it very similar to Cartier Declaration Essence, especially the top notes. The Cartier is probably more skillfully composed but Yang is a good substitute. The top notes of Yang are very strong and you have to be careful to not over-apply. It really is a sillage beast for me. Not sure how long for though as it is a while since I last wore it.
