Thread: Yohji Homme vs Frapin 1270
which one do you like better of the two? i have not tried the latter. is there a basis for comparison?
1270 is a sweet, syrupy dried fruit semi-gourmand oriental, the type of perfume this world is full of. It's not bad at all, but there are better formulations of that kind. Look for some Serge Lutens's, for instance.

As PM mentions, Yohji Homme is more of a fougére than a pure gourmand--it shimmers. Really brilliant.
1270 is much heavier, not at all the same.
Sans parfum, la peau est muette.
What I'm wearing:
1. Annick Goutal Sables
2. Parfums MDCI Invasion Barbare
3. Lagerfeld Cologne (vintage)
4. Abdul Samad al Qurashi Dahn al Oudh Anteeque
5. Jil Sander Background
6. Comme des Garcons Luxe Patchouli
7. Yohji Yamamato Yohji Homme
8. Histoire des Parfums 1725
What I admire and spend time pondering:
1. Fendi Theorema
2. Christian Dior Diorella
3. Ralph Lauren Polo
Have both and like both but prefer the Frapin.
Not to derail this, but is Yohji simmilar to Frapin 1270? I found a bottle of Yohji at work with about 3-4mL left in it about 4 years ago. I savored those last ML, that fragrance is really something special and it has been virtually impossible to find it since.
The hunt for a Signature Fragrance is not an easy one! I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Edit: 2015... I've given up and given in
