Default Love the Tobacco in Ambre Narguile - Other ideas?

I'm testing/wearing Ambre Narguile today - and while I LOOOVE it (it sort makes me want to eat my arm off) - it is ultimately too sweet for me, and gives me a headache.

    Sigh.

I really like the tobacco note though! On me, the tobacco blooms open at once - very honey sweet and almost floral - and dominates. It's mostly what I smell in the dry down, too.

But...though I like a touch of honey...this is ultimately too too TOOOOO sweet for me.

Are there other feminine tobacco frags y'all think I might like? So many tobaccos are masculine.

Also - the contemporary style is my preference. Though I totally appreciate the old-fashioned greats like Caron Tabac Blond - I can't really wear them. I smell "old-fashioned" and "My Nana" (who was a major perfumista! All Chanel and Guerlain, all the time!) first, and only get the notes second.

I find modern transparency more my speed. I really enjoy orientals that have a feeling of lightness to them - something that can balance depth/richness with a non-suffocating airy quality - and last forever! That's my ideal

So, you know - that light/dark thing - with a modern transparent richness - IN TOBACCO. But not so sweet it makes me headachey.

    Ideas?!?

I don't like overly sweet either, and that is the problem I have with Ambre Narguilé as well-- along with most amber fragrances.

You might try État Libre d'Orange Jasmin et Cigarette. Not quite the same as tobacco maybe but it's the smell you get when you first open a pack of cigarettes (my dad smoked, not I), with a jasmine that is easy to wear. I know it sounds a bit weird but it works.

Hilde Soliani Bell Antonio (this one is delicious and not too sweet)

Most good niche tobacco fragrances are very sweet, though what I think of as the big three tobaccos around these forums, Chergui, Back To Black, and Tobacco Vanille, are all a little less sweet than Ambre Narguille.

However, for genuinely non-sweet tobacco, I recommend Sonoma Scent Studio's Tabac Aurea.

Perhaps Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque. Tobacco, leather, honey. Far less sweet than most of Lutens' offerings.

Thanks everyone! Great suggestions. I'm particularly intrigued by Jasmin et Cigarette - in cart at Perfumed Court!

Serge Lutens Chergui and Fumerie Turque for sure

If you like it a little crazier, try Etat Libre's Divin Enfant

Pure Havane is smooth and not that sweet, also the tobacco has a very high quality. Recommended
