I must admit that I haven't given much exploration to sandalwood fragrances because I tend to not like woods, but the more I explore, the more I fall for them. I recently sampled pure Mysore sandalwood oil and it is breath-taking yet light. If I could, I'd fashion a scent around it. I like DSH Sandalo--even Pour le Jeune Homme and Hammam Bouquet have a good whack of sandalwood as well as Royal Scottish Lavender. I've not tried the other Creed sandalwoods, but hope to.

...Idole de Lubin et Bois de Turquie de Maître Parfumeur...
Creed Santal Imperial is great
Vintage Bijan for Men has a ton of sandalwood but also a generous helping of incense.
I don't have a signature fragrance. My signature changes a little bit every day, why shouldn't my fragrance?
Creed Bois de Santal, then Tam Dao.
Personally, a tie between:
Santal Noble - MPG (sandalwood laced with coffee)
Santal - Fragonard (slightly animalic, tobacco-infused sandalwood)
I also love L'Artisan's Santal and TOBS Sandalwood.
ointments and perfume delight the heart....
A wonderful treatment of sandalwood is Samsara in my opinion: love it to bits, although I've never worn it. It's a bit of a powerhouse on my skin... Still, I sniff it every chance i get!
À l'air libre les oiseaux ont eux aussi le vertige (camille)
Sans parfum, la peau est muette.
Mysore Sandalwood Soap by KSDL is the only mass produce product that smells like real mysore sandalwood... you have to try it.... it's also very cheap for a bar... under $2

Santal Noble for me. I also like the synthetic Floris Eau de Santal quite a bit.
Chanel Egoiste has a great sandalwood note!

I'm pretty sure I've smelled some actual sandalwood on my motorcycle in Japan while driving around at night, and the scent that matches what I've smelled lingering in the air the closest would have to be Tam Dao. Pretty accurate rendition of just straight, airy sandalwood IMHO.
