Default Natural born artist and unnatural born perfume

When I hear about “artistic perfumery” I always wonder why this adjective has not result in treating perfume industry as "products of art".
I do not mean of course the single bottle, but the work of the Nose, similar to that of the writer: that is an intellectual and creative work, and certainly not only a book to be placed on the shelf.
At the same, I use to define art not as the reproduction of what the senses perceive in nature: this would be a mere imitation with any ambition to exercise authority and originality. There isn't any artistic impression from a kind of work like this one. A Perfumer (as an artist) has the rule to dominate the raw materials, creating a performance that brings his work in contact with the nature, as a new and original creative act.
People who use this perfume are a part of his performance, by the interpretation of the fragrance, they can determinate the language that the Perfumer creates. So there is no game, nothing to copy or reproduce, for a Nose, but only a new idea, a new concept. And you have not to preoccupy yourself to say if it is a good or a bad idea, if you like the smell or not; because a perfume (if it is a work of art) is not a FaceBook post, but the existence of God, the freedom of atheism, the liberation and the slavery, the life and the death!
Who doesn't love to die will never live!

A lot depends on what artistic licence a perfumer gets -- if they are independent from the restrictive briefs some have to work to -- yes they are works of art. And some use their palettes better than others.

Not sure about your last paragraph though -- a bit 'trippy'

I agreed with you on a few of your views until you got to the atheism part. But you are intiteld to your opinions.

What if their interpretation doesn't jive with the creator's original intent?

So we can say that the black of Picasso is better than the one of Caravaggio! And maybe the DO of Mozart was used better than the one of Charlie Parker! There isn't "better' in art, only differences and different artists!

There is not a single way of reception of a work of art because the fruitors are different persons with different culture, sensibility, experiences... A work of art is also such because it gives infinite opportunities for spirit and brain! Yes, sure for NOSE too!
