ahh I've been a lurker forever! at least 7 years, contemplating signing up recently and somehow this spurred me on!! I have been sampling a lot of good cold weather fragrances recently and here are some of my all time and new favorites

    Creed baie de genievre
    Creed epicea
    Amouage Memoir
    Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyant
    Montale Greyland
Clive Christian "C" and or "X"
    Terre D'Hermes

Abercrombie and fitch woods (always a classic)
or IMO its grown up older brother Jo Malone Amber & Lavender (which is what I went with for this fall/winter)

Wow 7 seven years of lurking. That is an achievement.

    All those perfumes look nice.

I have actually been saving my samples of vintage Arpege by Lanvin. Basically an "old lady" fragrance these days in the context of a female wearing it. In other words, most chicks probably wouldn't. But I agree with Luca Turin that it is quite a nice scent for some men whose fragrance preferences run towards that pole. I don't wear it in summer however, so after a very brief affair with Arpege last winter/early spring, I'm about ready to bring 'er out again!

Hmm, I don't know, Saintpaulia, am I a "chick" or an "old lady", given that I just sold my bottle of vintage Arpège?

Was I old then, but now newly "chick-i-fied"?

    Ah, those terms for women....

Sorry, I was trying to be trendy. Appeal to the younger crowd here. But maybe they don't use those monikers anymore? Anyway by definition, an old lady is oh...60+ maybe? A chick is anyone under 30.
