Default Great Fragrances You Own But Never Wear

I gave Heritage by Guerlain a very good review, and I still think it is a terrific fragrance. But I never wear it. It never seems right. I pick it up and put it down. That's it. Will I sell it or dump it? No. Will I wear it. Not sure. Do others have similar experiences?

IMHO: None - Thanks to Basenotes I have evolved too the stage now that any scent I feel that is great regardless of gender I will wear.

I have spritzed on my skin every one of the fragrances in my collection at one time or another in the past 36 years.

Basically, they aren't great if I never wear them.

Joe, I know what you mean. I have Wode by Boudicca, the paint version, review here: http://www.basenotes.net/ID26129315.html

It's more for show than for wear, but I do really love the way it smells.

Also, I think it depends on how old you are and the kinds of activity you are involved in. I love the smell of Sybaris, but not sure I can pull it off because of my age. Same goes for Macassar, not sure anyone would appreciate the intense odor of, as Alfarom stated, "angry male gorilla wearing a tuxedo" review here: http://www.basenotes.net/ID26121038.html

And Muscs Koublai Khan? Exactly what occasion does Serge Lutens expect any human to wear that to??
Reviews here: http://www.basenotes.net/ID26121143.html (do read what I wrote about it!)

I've found that wearing a couple of fragrances per day--one during the day, another for the evening, and another for around bedtime--helps to solve this problem. If I didn't do that, I know I'd have some very good fragrances that would go unworn.

+1 to this. I give all of my scents a rotation.

No. If I get fifty more that I get to choose, I would definately wear them all.

The only one I never wear is Jil Sander Background. I bought it 15 years ago in Koln and now I discovered it became a pretty hard to find fragrance. I feel like I shouldn't run out of this one...

Chergui...it's not that I never wear it -- it's that I don't wear it as much as I should (I've worn it maybe 5 times in the 6 months I've owned it?). I think it's something to do with wanting to avoid cheapening the experience of wearing it. And, oddly enough, I'm fine with that.
What I've been wearing far too much of lately:

    -Amouage Lyric Man
    -Guerlain Gourmand Coquin
    -Creed Jardin d'Amalfi

Musc Ravageur. I guess it isn't great if I don't wear it that much. Very good though and I only like wearing it at certain times of the year and for certain occasions.

Tommy Bahama (brown bottle). Smells great. Seems like a year round fragrance. Just never wear it.

Marc Jacobs. Same as Tommy Bahama.

Musc Ravageur. I love the scent, but living in a desert climate I rarely get the chance to wear it. On top of that it's way too sexy for most occasions as well.

I've got a full bottle I never touch, don't know why, it's a classy scent and I like the way it smells.

Now that I'm down to 28 bottles they all stand a decent chance of being worn, but I could stand to lose about 8 of those that I just never get around to. So about 20 get a decent shot at being worn.

If I had to name one? I dunno...the 8 probably get ignored equally.
