So has anyone ever actually noticed that you were wearing a female fragrance
and mentioned it to you?
My nose is good enough to recognize a distinct female group of notes and usually I don't care to wear those type fragrances. There are plenty of fragrances that walk the line between male and female and in many ways, these type fragrances are more interesting to both sexes. I believe the days of either smelling like a wall flower or a lumberjack are numbered.
- Expect the unexpected
Not yet. If this happen i will ask that yes, smell good, hm?
Why do you ask, just out of interest?
I'd never live it down. Not that i'd ever wear a female fragrance - they're for women. Just like knickers.
No. But I just wear fragrances - no other adjective included.
Sure, when wearing Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir and other men's fragrances. And when raiding the girlfriend's fragrance collection. Her argument was that only gay men would wear women's fragrances. I disagreed and kept on raiding.
So far, I only wore unisex or male fragrances, so no
if ur not confident about ur masculinity, dont wear it,
I was once called a ponce for wearing essence of petunia
Disclaimer: idk lol
I have a friend that is into colognes and when he comes over hes always interested in seeing what's new in my collection. Just the other day I was showing him different bottles and samples when I popped the cap off an Amouage epic woman sample and put the sprayer up to his nose. He sniffed and said "Damn, thats bomb what is it?" I showed him the vial that says WOMAN right on it. In disbelief, he immediately looked at me and said "WTF is this? Its womens perfume dont give me this sh*t!" as if it made him less masculine. I tried to explain to him that there are no rules in fragrance and if you like a smell regardless of marketing, you should wear it. He didnt buy any of it. Just goes to show what a label can do.
If it were to happen, it would probably be a female recognizing a scent she knows on you. Or, maybe a guy who recognizes his mom's or significant other's signature perfume on you. It hasn't happened to me (yet), but then I don't wear many fragrances marketed to women. Although I fully expect someone to recognize Dior Dune, or Shalimar, or Mitsouko on me one of these days.
