Thread: The skankiest of them all
Mirror mirror on the wall
Which is the skankiest of them all?
In your opinion?
Hard choice... let's say Muscs Koublai Khan.
I agree with cacio plus Dzing! on myself.
My vote goes to Muscs Koublai Khan as well.
Geste - Humiecki and Graef - smells a lot like dirty undies.
Agent Provocateur - dirty panties as well
Miller Harris l'air de rien
“Auntie Mame [is] a froth of whipped cream and champagne and daydreams and Nuit de Noël perfume. She's not mortal at all.”- Patrick Dennis
Theo Fennell Scent-I can actually wear MKK comfortably and enjoy it but had to bin my sample of Scent -it was pure dirty sweat, even thinking about it makes my stomuch churn
I find Absolue Pour le Soir to be the skankiest.
Unlike MKK, which on me is somewhat muted by the slightest bit of florals, AplS has that suggestive aspect that one has to uncover layer by layer.
Thats why I love it.
Another vote for MKK.
Of the stuff i have, it's the Horny Little Devil perfume oil. Cinnamon-pepper-dirty musk. Smells good on me. Best review I read of this was "don't know whether to eat it or f*ck it!" Imagine it would not appeal to everyone, with the cinnamon, it doesn't exactly smell like perfume but I like it, it works.
+1 on both MKK and APLS and I'll add Onda (Extrait)

I'll second Onda! And add The Party in Manhattan.
Theo Fennel Scent
La Nuit by Paco Rabanne
How are we defining skanky? Is it a perfume a skanky woman would wear or a perfume that is itself inherently skanky--like with the aforementioned panty smell?
Muscs Koublai Khan
Vintage Joy extract. I kid you not. Sweaty bare hiney on a bed of jasmine and roses.
'Mirror mirror on the wall, which is the skankiest of them all?'
'Why, Your Majesty, Tabu by Dana, of course!'
Bal à Versailles
the mother of them all, specially Parfum or EDC Vintage
Ps: I Own MKK, APLS and others, nothing come even close to BaV!

Me and civet... I often perceive perfumes as perfectly alright that others consider skanky or downright 'scandalous'. APLS is 'naughty' to me, but not terribly skanky. Bal a Versailles in its vintage extrait form (from the time of its initial launch) is very refined and elegant in nature though with a very distinctive powder and civet that triggered unpleasant associations in my head.
Tabu in vintage extrait form (I guess my small bottle is from the 1970s) is a blast but not skanky to me. My sample of A Party in Manhattan (from TPC) had nothing skanky about it. Now, if you want vintage skankiness... I have never seen anything rival the very old extraits of Lanvin Scandal (due to formulation and ageing I take it).
In this order IMO:
Dior Leather Oud
This has been a fabulous thread or this newbie in *what not to bother with* .
Thank you all....it has made me giggle and given me a *heads up*
Gorilla perfumes 'lust' = Well it is, but afterwards.... eeeech. Made my sister and I roar with laughter when we tried this one. We couldn't believe anyone would ever dare wear this but then again, my skin doesn't pick up florals, just the dark side.
There is Boudoir, but it's nice. I never found BaV too skanky either, but I like civet on its own.

Also, someone recently sent me a sample of Providence Perfume Co. Indolic (must be an essence for blending) that smelled, ah, fundamental. Miel de Bois, of course, smells urinous. While Secretions Magnifique .... I have my SM, MdB and Indolic samples sitting in one box together away from my other samples because they are so naughty. I'm taking a 6-hour plane ride tonight. Maybe I should wear a dab of each so I can get the row to myself?

"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." What I am loving right now: Shalimar vintage extrait, Chanel Bois des Iles, Chanel no. 22, Le Labo Iris 39, Guerlain Iris Ganache
Aramis--mainstream, old school skank, but skank none the less. Not a bad thing, by the way.
On ME was Diesel Fuel For Life EDP women, one hour and half after I sprayed and was like I had a smelly armpit on my wrist (like I said on my first post - I have "picky/evil" skin chemistry)
