I agree. Try before buy. And ask those dearest and closest to you if they like it. Those near me did not. Good thing I didn't like it either, otherwise they'd be unhappy

    I remember that!

I have yet to try this one. I'll see if it's available at my local mall.

I really don't know...I've been 'using' for about a week now, and I have to say, I've received mixed reactions from colleagues. I think it's great, but if the people I work around don't like it, I'm gonna have to reserve use to the weekends and personal time. Guess only time will tell.

Strange a lot of my co-workers liked it.

I tried it today. 6 blasts to the neck/1 shot to the hand ( so I could take whiffs as I was driving). It kind of reminded me of cashmere for some reason. It's nice, but not great. I think Antidote is much more complex/perfumey than spicebomb. Spicebomb is laid back, relaxing like a rich luxurious sweater.

I was in the Guess outlet bying a pair of jeans, when the young minx who was assiting me said "you smell great"!
So I guess it projects and is liked by the young ones. It sure put a smile on her face.

It is one of the better designer releases thus so far, but no wow factor for me.

Tried this today. I quite like it. However, I opted not to buy it yet because I have a TV decant incoming. I can totally see the association with TV. I can't comment on it's likeness to EDB, however, since I haven't had the opportunity to try that. It's sweet, cinnamonny goodness; warm and comforting. My sister doesn't like the smell at all however. I asked her why--she couldn't tell me. But then again, I don't like what she likes. For example she went to get Lola by Marc Jacobs and the opening smelled like nail polish to me.

Anyway, what would be awesome is if someone made a detailed comparison of SB, TV, and EDB

Gave it a wearing today. Amazing projection and logevity. This is just overall a very good fragrance

Smells a bit more like EDB to me than TV but mostly during the drydown, also has something in the drydown that reminds me of Pure malt and havane.

It's good stuff I think maybe 6 or 7 out of 10 for me, easy to wear.

Everyone should really stop comparing this to Tobacco Vanille. It is a close to TV as 1 million is.

I can see a very remote comparison with TV due to the sweetness and tobacco, but TV has that boozy opening, with much more tobacco and vanilla.

Do you not think the price will keep alot of the less enthusiastic fragrance wearers from buying Spicebomb?

Also the brand would not be well known to most men, I would imagine.

I agree with that. I don't think this will be a mass appeal frag that everyone owns.

True it's not a well know brand, but they are advertising this like mad. As for the price, maybe it will but this is still farely cheap imo, $95 for the big bottle and $75-80 for the smaller one.

I thought the price for the smaller one to be a bit out of line with traditional prices. I know its just $10, but usually 50mL's go for around $65.

I don't think price will deter many buyers, since.both Le Male and 1 Million aren't much cheaper and still regularly fly off the shelves in most stores. Will be curious to see just how popular this ends up being.

I had a look and SB isin't as expensice as I had assumed.

Then again, it is a 90ml bottle, I was thinking of the price of the 125ml bottle of Antidote.

    tried this today...

this pretty much comes down to: are you a designer frag wearer or a niche frag wearer?

if you (or your budget) is designer heavy, go ahead. it is a pleasant enough fragrance.

if you are a niche person, there is so much out there that trounces this. I own Royal Oud and Tobacco Vanille, and buying this would be a complete waste. in the opening it has a cheap version of the spices in Royal Oud. as it dries down, it dries down to a cheap Tobacco Vanille.

and, as with all designer frags, it gives me a headache something fierce. ChemicalBomb?

the only good that has come of me testing this is that I'm going to try layering Tobacco Vanille with Royal Oud and see if I can make a "Spicebomb" that doesn't scream "I BOUGHT THIS AT MACY'S!!!"
