    Default Gucci pour Homme (2003)

May I ask a question? Who thinks that Gucci pour Homme (2003) smells like Tommy Bahama for Men?

It smells a lot like CDG Man 2 as people are probably about to tell you :-)

Perhaps these are rather obscure frags.

I absolutely think it smells like Tommy Bahama men in the opening. For about the first 20 minutes at least--it's that cedar and pepper accord.

Then, where Tommy Bahama becomes rather one-dimensional, GPH develops excellently into its incense, vanilla heart.

But really, that was my first reaction when I tried GPH--"this smells like Tommy Bahama"

I think TB's great if you want that cedar-pepper accord in the summer--it's light enough to wear on a hot day. I think GPH is much better suited for cooler temps.

I think they are somewhat in the same "ball park", but I cannot say that Tommy Bahama smells close to Gucci pour Homme. The Gucci has white pepper and ginger in the opening that make it quite different. I also do not feel the Bahama has the frankincense in the dry down. Perhaps only cedar ?

I like Gucci pour Homme much better, but the TB is okay in its own right.

Thanks Ron199. So, according to you, not even a remote connection. Interesting!

Bahama is sweeter. I like it but the wife, not so much! I think she actually liked Gucci better.

So you would say there is, at least some similarity, right?

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say it's a 6.27. ( I hope Chuck doesn't mind me answering for him, this is just how I feel they are similar).

That is very interesting. So you believe that there no connection at all?

Just blind bought this this morning. My first reaction was "this smells like a BBQ". Anybody else get that? The coal, the gas, the fire, the grilled meat...

    I REALLY like it btw.
