    Default Father of the Bride...

On Saturday I will be giving my eldest daughter away...

And naturally I have been giving some thought as to what I should wear

The forecast is for the day to be sunny and warm (in the UK 20c is warm!!!).

From my wardrobe I think I'm inclined to go for Grey Vetiver for the day, followed by Bois de Portugal in the evening.

What do you think guys? would you have chosen some other combination? If so, why?

    Over to you...

Hi John and congrats on your daughters wedding. The good weather has finally arrived just in time for the big day.

The frags you mentioned good that they are I just think they are a tad bit conservative and restrained for the happy occasion. Looking at your wardrobe I would be more inclined to go for Acqua Di Parma for the day and the light gourmand chocolate like Endymion for the evening.

    Have a great day!

While I fully agree with your choice of Bois du Portugal for the evening, I think something less sedate for the daytime should be explored. Rather than the mediocre Grey Vetiver, perhaps, your Terre d'Hermes, or even Tuscan Leather, would be better choice.

I think Bois du Portugal would be perfectly suited for this occasion. More as a daytime scent, IMO, but you know what works for you. Congrats to your daughter, have fun

Congratulations and also kudos to the excellent choices- if I were you, I'd even wear BDP all through the day, since it's a totally special scent, a genuine allrounder for such special occasions.

The choice seems good. For the ceremony, I'd go however with CDG2 man, more churchy, with its candlewax and incense feel (even more liturgical would have been a straightforward incense, like Jub XXV or Avignon, but you don't have them).

Well first of all a massive congratulations, I imagine it must be a bittersweet feeling. Anyway, to your question. Acqua I'd Parma Colonia will be perfect in my opinion

I think Acqua di Parma Colonia would be a great choice for the day, and either BdP or TF Extreme for the evening. Congrats!

Kouros during the day. Remind your son in law who's still the boss.

    Hi there,

I'm sure you have ZERO money after paying for your daughter's money, but WHY NOT BUY YOURSELF SOMETHING NEW? YOU DESERVE IT AFTER ALL THIS!

That said, your choices sound wonderful to me.

First of all I want to offer congratulations to you, your daughter, and the rest of your family. I am sure you're going to have a fantastic day.

Given the potential weather this weekend, I too agree that your choices are spot on. Grey Vetiver will work excellently for the day. Bois du Portugal is another excellent fragrance, and suitable to the occasion.

    Hi guys!

    Thanks for the kind words.

For those that suggested the Acqua di Parma, that was a serious contender but, as will we be outside on grass quite a lot, I felt the Grey Vetiver would fit in better.

@Eggy - Just the one Mule!

@JAH0688 - Post of the Week, thank you, that really did make me laugh out loud. BTW, he will be wearing Live Jazz.

@Jcrich - Thank you for the BdP. It lasts a long time, doesn't it?

    Tell you what, mate...

We are doing an 'open house' on Sunday...

    I'll wear it then!
