I'm considering purchasing invasion barbare, but before I do, I wanted to consult with BN. Is there an alternate option you think I should consider or is invasion barbare a no brainer?

If you like it then I suppose so. It is not a blind buy kind of scent though, IMO.

There's always something competing, if you like it and your wallet can stand it, why not ?
IB is on my to-buy list for 2012.
If you have tried, and like it, I'd say it's unique enough to not compare. Havent tried 1725, but have Sartorial. I guess they are both modern fougeres, I found IB to be the more modern and unique.
I don't find it that unique. To my nose it's a fougere with some spices thrown in (seemingly in a haphazard manner). While no other frag is going to replicate it exactly, many will come close. It smells like a high quality frag to me, however it isn't cheap... so I would try some other fougeres that have been recommended and judge for yourself.
P.S. I'd add Versace Black Jeans to the "to try" list
Of the three nu-gere's, Sartorial, 1725 and IB I prefer IB, the only drawback is its price. Im wearing Sartorial and it is pretty versatile leaning towards formal. IB being more formal wear IMO. I recommend getting samples of each to make a wise decision.
I told myself that if I can go the entire month of December without buying any frags, I can have Invasion Barbare.
Yes, by all means, buy it. Enjoy!
A little on the feminine side but very good nonetheless.
Wore this for the first time yesterday after finding the vanilla too prominent on paper -- WOW! Modern and classic, comfortable yet bracing... very impressed. The very dry cedar-woody accord cuts right through the sweet benzoin-musk, miles away from cloying. It's still very prominent on my wrist 15 hours later ... Iso E Super? Whatever it is, it works great. Balking a bit at the price but I may have to do it. It's like a grand baroque sophisticated Azzaro Visit Intense or something. This is some perfumery wizardry of the highest art!
I really like it but find the synthetics in the dry down to be a bit.. roughly handled. Up until that point it's excellent. It smells like a princely shaving cream.

From my point of view it is a no brainer
Ya, I pulled the trigger on this about 24 hours after the post. Awesome scent.
Oud 27 makes me sex.
I stand by my positive review but it's extremely expensive and I'm not sure it's a bold enough composition for me. It's rather understated, and I'm not.
I'll definitely need a decant before I spring the $$$ for a full bottle. Sillage after the opening seems lower than expected too.
I say go for it...glad I got it.
It was and still is my best blind buy ever, amazing stuff.
