Chanel Allure/Allure Sport.
Hey all! Need some cologne suggestions for my younger brother. I myself like chypres and aren't afraid to buy women's perfumes from the early 20th century, my brother however he is a bit more contrary. He's sporty, but not a total meat-head and appreciates dressing well. He likes "clean" scents a lot, like sterile cleaning supply scents and for the holidays I'm looking for a scent for him.
I'm pretty earthy and like landscape design and dirt and flowers and japanese incense so a lot of those Polo esque scents smell really synthetic and cheap to me in a bad way, same with other regular 'sporty' male frags so I need some help trying to find something nice.
Any suggestions that aren't too pricey that are very 'clean' and yet just a touch better than the aquatic and beachy stuff everyone else is wearing. I want him to stand out in a good way but not feel weird wearing it. Something a bit more niche than everyone else.

Cologne du Parfumeur by Guerlain. Fresh, subtle, a bit citric with woody highlights... Clean, but distinctive without being over-the-top. Reasonably priced eau de cologne at $98 retail for 100ml.
At a lower retail you could look at something like HeWood Rocky Mountain Wood by DSquared2. That one is a nice fresh woody scent. Synthetic to be sure, but quite pleasant smelling and uncommon. RMW can be found online at eBay for under $50 for a 100 ml bottle.

Infusion d'Homme by Prada - an enchanting soapy and clean vibe ... the refreshing citrus opening, wherein the neroli and mandarin notes interplay wonderfully, yields to an intriguing heart, with its vetiver, iris, galbanum and cedar cocktail, majestically carrying to the squeaky-clean base of benzoin and frankincense .... decent longevity and projection ...

Mugler Cologne or Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne are both nice, clean and refreshing.
+1 Chanel Platinum Egoiste. It is such a versitile fragrance that you can wear just about anywhere. Definitely falls into the "clean" and fresh catagory that you are looking for and isn't terribly expensive and it suits pretty much any age.
Cartier Roadster is a safe, quality scent suitable for the frag-nervous.
