Default Generic Recommendation Request (courtesy of a noob)

Briefly skimmed over stickies without finding anything on request formatting, so this request will come across as a haphazard dump of information about myself in the hope that some of it will be useful to posters.

Open to any recommendations, whether a single scent, one for day and one for night, different seasons, etc. Greatful for any advice.

I'm 17, Northern Irish/British. My scent should match my body and aesthetic, right? Maybe? Here's the basics anyway: I'm a tall lad (6'3"), fairly lean and skinny, white skin, brown hair. My clothing aesthetic is trendy conservative (if there's such a thing); think corduroy and dark denim, button-down shirts and fairisle jumpers. I try to give off an air of adventure, tradition, intelligence and warmth. Here's a picture of me. http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...47174259_n.jpg

In case lifestyle comes into it: I'm a grammar school student (~highschool), hobbies include fashion and socialising (and nerdy shit like animu and vidyagames but I hide my powerlevel). Shit that might be relevant (ie scents that I enjoy etc): I love bittersweet smells like dark chocolate, brown sugar, cinnamon, licorice. A scent recommendation doesn't necessarily have to include those, though.

If I forgot to include anything useful, sorry, ask away. Thanks in advance.

I don't think your choice of fragrance has to be determined by what you look like. Most of the time you will be smelling it, so it should be something that you like and that makes you feel fits you.

To me, this is the most important information:

    A couple of recs:

Annick Goutal Sables - has a strong immortelle component, which smells licorice-y. Very nice, not too strong - maybe a good day scent.
Thierry Mugler A*Men - big chocolate/caramel blast with a bitter tar note that fades after a while. Complex, powerful stuff, lasts forever and you can smell it from a few feet away (or across the house if you really lay it on). A good evening scent I think.

Play Intense by Givenchy - Upon application, one is pleasantly treated to a refreshing duet of nectarous, mandarin tangerine and somewhat tart bergamot. Tumbling to the waiting middle, the citrus mixes with the slightly spicy and fruity pink pepper and coffee tree wood to brew a sweet, cocoa concoction, and flows to the wondrous base. Transitioning, multifaceted labdanum kidnaps the cocoa mixture and morphs the cocoa into a not unpleasant, tar-like, burnt coffee. The syrupy coffee joins with the woody vetiver, the sweet patchouli, the spicy vanilla of the tonka beans, and the soft, balsamic amyris wood to exude an awesome, mocha drydown. A delectable treat, this radiant composition has excellent longevity and very good projection.

Costume National Homme is a lovely fragrance with a cinnamon note. Not sweet though. Lasts all day. Check the reviews. Probably more suited to cooler months. Try a vetiver also, wearable all year round eg. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. Or the daddy of them all, Guerlain Vetiver.

Agree with the recs. I would add the easier to find Lolita Lempicka au masculin (licorice). Big plus to Sables.

I own Armani Remix (which I like), I hear there are a lot of similarities between the two. Any comments?

The licorice note in Lolita Lempicka au Masculin is toned down quite a bit and mellowed out, but it still steals the show in its own way. With Armani Remix, all I get out of the opening is the licorice. Lolita Lempicka is sweeter IMO and overall a more versatile fragrance that can be used in more situations. If I had to chose one, I would immediately chose LL.

Wow! I think I got, maybe, 5 separate emails on this spam copied and pasted verbatim.
