Default Rochas Man- Safe blind buy??

Since I don't see Rochas Man anywhere local to sample I was thinking of a blind buy. I do like A*Men, New Haarlem, L'Instant Extreme if that helps. The price seems right for its description. Thanks.

From your liking selection, you should like this one too.

If you like New Haarlem then I say this is a pretty safe blind buy. Just think "New Haarlem lite" without the thick syrupy coffee feeling on your skin. Also it is very affordable.

Ok, so it's not redundant to have both New Haarlem and Rochas? Different enough?

Rochas Man by Rochas - In its opening, a pleasing lavender and bergamot arouse the senses. From afar, a sweet and creamy vanilla bobs eagerly. Thankfully, the lavender remains throughout the composition to rein in the sweetness. The tantalizing vanilla does intrude on that grassy lavender, and brings its sugary sweetness to the fore, steering it to its heart. The middle beckons, stewing with its coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, cedar, and rasberry notes, as well as some, lovely jasmine and lily-of-the-valley accords. The sweet vanilla blends nicely with the heart, creating a delicious mocha cafe, with hints of wood and floral twinkling. The smooth base with its amber, sandalwood, and glimpses of patchouli, usurps the melange, softening it, and evolves into its enticing drydown. It's a well-constructed gourmand. This delightful fragrance's longevity is good; and its projection is average for the first 3 hours, then sticks to the skin.

Imo yes they are different enough to own both.

Yes, Rochas Man is a safe blind buy for you. The best gourmand you can buy for the price in my opinion.

I was massively disappointed with Rochas Man. Personally can't understand all the hype and am selling it to a friend.

You like all the similar scents. As said - think New Haarlem turned down from 11 to seven, pretty much. That's how I keep describing it, and I'm really liking both the perfume and the groovy analogy.

Meaning - Yeah, you'll most likely like Rochas Man

I like Rochas Man because it's such a versatile gourmand. I feel inclined to wear most gourmands in cooler weather or at night. Rochas Man is a pleasing light gourmand that can be worn in warmer weather and during the day easily.

It could easily be used in the classroom or office without fear of projecting like a beast and offending anyone. Heck, I'd even wear it on a plane.

Plus, it's one of the best values for the price/ml.

    This sums it up nicely.

Seems like it would be a fairly safe blind buy for you if you want more sugary scents. It's cheap and hard not to like.

yes. but i will tell you what will happen. you buy it, and in a year or so there will be two ways possible - if your interest in scents sinks - it will just sit in the closet and you will be trying to sell it. if it raises - you will again be trying to sell it and get something better.
my advice - invest in musc ravageur. if the first above happens - although very costly, easy to sell it with little loss. if the latter -you will be enjoying it more and more.

You can also sell Rochas Man very easily on the forums here, with little or no loss, and with far less of a cost investment. ASK ME HOW I KNOW.

Besides Rochas Man seems a lot more amenable to your taste than Musc Ravageur, which is somewhat divisive.

i guess we all need to go the proper way... i have also been through rochas man.
the whole story is another plus for the scent industry, besides the hardness of getting samples and buying blindly.
otherwise musc ravageur is divisive, yes... needs couple of full wearings before appreciation begins. i could not handle it at first.

I don't find it overly skanky or difficult to be honest. I just think it's way too much to pay for a luxurious but simple musky spiced vanilla. But that's a story for another thread.

Maybe. The thing is horrid on paper but calms down a bit on skin. I'm not a fan of that type of vanilla, but it's not that big of a loss if you don't like it.

Pretty safe blind buy due to your taste. In fact New Harleem and Rochas Man are two different smells. Looks alike but very different. I prefer Rochas Man wich i find more balanced overall. New Harleem is sweeter. Specialy on the drydown.

It was a safe blind buy for me. Most of the comments suggest this to be a young man's fragrance but to me I thought it was fairly mature, in a good way, with that dark note.

    Well, no blind-buy is safe
I found Rochas Man a little bit "too much" and quite cloyin on my skin.
For what it worth, I'd pick TL pour Lui instead, a very good bargain!

I bought it blind and was happy with my purchase as I like sweet scents. However, too much of everything isn't good; same goes with Rochas. Over-applied it last week, and, wow, it was cloying. Sickly sweet.

Considering your previous purchases...two things stand out..yes you love sweet orientals..great...but you also like QUALITY

Rochas, IMO, is not a quality scent. I would avoid.

^^^^^^ I get where he is coming from....yet it is still a very good fragrance(scent wise)...projection and longevity not so much tho.

You can always compensate for the lack of longevity by applying more tho.

Based upon the other gourmands you enjoy, Rochas Man would be perfect for your collection. Given that and the fact it is rather inexpensive, I think a blind buy would be just find.
